From the other Sony thread, looks like using the 10% new member coupon voids Cashrewards cashback
oh that makes sense.
between 8% cashback and 10% mysony new member discount, this isnt much of a deal then.
Bummer they removed the loophole. However, if you are price matching, the 8% cashback isn't too bad expecially with the other stacks you've got
@GrabOzB: yeah so
e.g. 35mm f1.4
Price matched price $1575 (with st george cameras)
-8% cashrewards excl gst = $1460
-$150 sony cashback = $1310
-$50 amex cashback = $1260decent.. but still a whole $100 more than the same deal late last year
@lawyerz: Don't think we'll be seeing deals as good as when we could stack them. So that example might be the best deal on that lens for months.
Another user mentioned issues with cashback (Cashrewards/SB) with price match too :(
@GrabOzB: Yeah agreed. I have mixed experiences. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15289740/redir
Perfect! Thanks can stack with the amex deal!
Wow, stack it all the way!
70-200 f2.8 GMII at Georges is $3144. So with price match and discounts…-$250 Cashrewards
-$50 Amex
-$150 Sony Cashback
Total -$450So $3144-450 = $2694
If you had the 70-200 f2.8 saved in your cart when it was $2899, you can get it for $2469 !
Price matched item won't get cashback..
You're kidding! Gets worse and worse
really? It did last year for me. Is this in their t&c ?
A few month back, cashback won't pay any cashback for price match items.
@PeppaCat: It's not in their terms and conditions as far as I can see. It would be illegal for them not to pay up if it's not in their terms and conditions.
Here are their T&Cs:
Cashback is ineligible on the following:
PlayStation products & accessories, including any purchases from the PlayStation store.
Purchases made with exclusive discounts provided to employees, corporate and commercial partners of Sony Australia. Cashback is also ineligible for Sony X Members, Alpha Pro Support, Student and Educator program members, and Service Centres.
Lay-Bys, purchases from eBay, Amazon, parallel import stores, second hand purchases and other online resellers not authorised by Sony Australia are ineligible for cashback.
Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
Purchase of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
Creative Pro.
Items that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
Fraudulent transactions.@Serpeant: There are plenty of people that have reported issues with cashbacks relating to price matches being paid out in the Sony threads here. My own transactions have tracked fine but it is definitely a risk.

So this is debatable. I got my pricematch + cashback at least 3 times in the last 12 months on BOTH cashrewards and shopback - on big expensive items like lenses and cameras, BUT a lot of other people said theirs was rejected so I don't know.
It didnt track every single time - i had to raise a manual request, anxiety inducing considering that the cashback are hundreds of dollars.
Yeah it's worked all the time for me on lenses for price matches (5+ times in last 12 months) but I find it hard to recommend since I hear so many bad experiences. I probably need to raise a manual request ~20% of the time.
if its in your cart already wont the cashback not work?
I too would like to know!
Did your item already in the cart get the cashback amount added to it?
i didnt do it just responding to the comment above, pretty sure any cashback offers you need to have an empty cart when clicking through otherwise cashback wont work, same for any partner as far as im aware
@perfectlydark: Its worked for me many times with the item already in the cart.
FYI .. There's no cashback on the GM2.
You are correct. It is the SEL70200G2 that has $150 cash back!
I could have sworn at one point the cashback was split between cameras and non-cameras, where I dont see that anymore.
MySony 10% new member + ongoing Sony's cashback by manual claim + cashrewards cashback + AMEX $50 cashback off $350 spend could be a good stacking deal
