Howdy Folks,

These two CPU + GPU combos are always popular and we've gone big for EOFY, upping cooling to a 240mm AIO as standard on both. We've listened to requests for higher tier B650 and are using the MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi (also now available as a specific upgrade from the base Asus Prime B650M-A WiFi II on previous deals).

That's crazy how a 4090 build is about $1300 more than the 4080 Super build

    • +2

That's because the cheapest 4080 supers are around $1,300-1,500 cheaper than the cheapest 4090

  • These appear essentially the same as this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841781 but about $50 extra? Guess the AIO costs more, different brand GPU.

I find it hard to get behind liquid cooling. Anyone know if it's reasonable to cool these rigs by fans alone?

    • A decent 120mm air cooler should be sufficient for both of these CPUs.

      • +3

I wouldn't bet on it for the 14700.
The x3d the air cooler would be fine though

    • +1

Liquid cooling is overkill most of the time, especially in commissioned rigs where the user is almost guaranteed to not screw around with stuff like overclocking(which is also kinda dead these days because manufacturers squeeze as much as they can out of the silicon from factory). Its pretty well documented that the higher end Noctuas can outperform low-mid range AIO water coolers. The added bonus iis the only way an air cooler can really fail is if the fan stops working - which can be monitored by the specific cpu fan header and auto shutdown the system if it is overheating, an AIO pump could fail and unless you have specific monitoring options on your Bios you wouldn't know it happened.

I am with you, and probably will never touch water cooling, its an enthusiast thing imo, all power to you if you wanna pimp out yours but I just wanna play vidya games.

      • -1

is liquid cooling bad for games?

    • +1

Motherboard is higher quality on the AMD. Given the likely long upgrade path I'd probably be ok with the extra $40. I'd even be tempted to ask for a free downgrade to a deepcool air cooler but I'm not buying today so take my comments with a grain of salt

    • Grab something like the artic liquid AIO, they are absolutely amazing, the company behind it is pretty good as well for warranty and other issue sif you have them. I love mine for my 5950x, it's a great investment. AIO is also way less hassle than actual liquid cooling that I don't have the hassle to do.

  • I dont plan to Overclock or anything like that, is there any benefit to upgrade to 360mm AIO cooler?

    • +3

      None whatsoever, save the money.

      • Thanks mate, appreciate helping us n00bs out.

    • +1

Get a Thermalright PS120 and don't have to worry about liquid leaking. The cooler will probably last until your next rig.

  • +1

Hey Luke, any other brand for GPU if i am willing to pay more?

    • +1

Not really, PNY are our major partner and have the supply we need

      • Do you have the XLR8 variant of PNY 4080?

  • any good graphics card deals? looking to upgrade my 1070 to something a bit more modern

  • Purchased a previous 4080 super deal with the pny card. These GPUs produce a lot of coil whine. It's enough to be heard from different rooms and noise cancelling headphones aren't always enough.

    • -1

Really? First the Asus Prime MB issues, now the noisy PNY GPUs. I think I'll never buy one of these deals… haha

  • Bought the 7800X3D build, upgraded to 360mm aio and Antec p20c case, more for aesthetic reasons. Cant wait!!

    • +1

Definitely didn't need the CPU cooler upgrade. But congrats on your purchase.

      • he said for aesthetic reasons, it has an extra rgb fan the 360mm.

        • Is the fan an RGB fan though?
The cpu mount in the Deepcool seems to be the RGB not the Fans/radiator, but then again the model number isnt listed anywhere.
          https://www.deepcool.com/products/Cooling/cpuliquidcoolers/C…

          • @maverickjohn: ah shoot, I think you are right, when I googled their models and seeing RGB I just assumed it meant the fans, but now checking in detail only the more expensive models have rgb fans. I highly doubt they will give the more expensive model in this build since they need to keep costs down.

I might see if I can still change back to 240mm and get the difference refunded.

  • Is there an option that comes with a white case?

  • Is there option to go from 240mm AIO to a Deepcool AK500 Digital

  • +3

Writing this on my new TechFast PC (just a little RTX 4060 cheapie). Took nearly 1 month from order to delivery, because the "5-10 business days" only started when they put it in their queue 6 calendar days after I ordered, and then it was Anzac Day plus 10 business days, but it's all good. I loved messing with Linux Mint for a bit before I installed Windows… might make it dual boot to play with Mint some more.

  • @luketechfast Hi Luke, just a quick question. I live in an apartment so was wondering if you did "signature required" delivery? Is there any insurance offered as part of the delivery?

    • If it helps, mine is on the way and signature is required.

      • Yes it does, thanks mate!

  • Just curious is there an option to add a second m.2 ssd?

    • We don't offer it as standard because of different boards we use not all of which have 2 slots - but both of these boards in these deals do have 2. So yep, we can offer it - best arranged post purchase via [email protected] and we can give you a price.

  • Hey @luketechfast,
Is it possible to use after pay on this deal?
On the build page, it is listed as one of the payment methods you accept, but when I proceed to payment, I only have credit card option

    • On a previous deal he said it was too expensive (for them) to offer after pay payments on ozbargain deals

      • +1

        This is correct

        • Sadge :(

  • @luketechfast A question on a previous purchase, i got the intel i3 $899 build a few weeks ago. The fans are so incredibly loud I can hear it from the other end of my house, they sound like industrial sized fans. Is this normal?

    • +1

I wouldn't say so, no. Can you send a video to [email protected] to start a support request

      • @luketechfast i have sent an email, on advice of moving the computer to an open area to try again, the computer no longer powers on. I've made sure the cable is plugged in correctly and tried a different outlet. I've emailed support twice with no response now, are you able to help?

        • I've escalated - expect a reply shortly

  • Is i9-14900KF worth an extra $180?

    • +1

I think it's not so worth it, especially since the i9 currently has many minor issues… In comparison, the 7800X3D has really great reviews.

    • Man that sucks, you would have been so excited to just use it, and then … nothing :(

      • +1

Hi Quantico, thanks for your response. I deleted my comment as I was able to fix the issue!

  • +1

    Thanks, purchased the amd :).

  • How quick are the "Operating System SSD" in this deal …. (read/write) - any chance of a upgrade option ?

  • Can we assume this deal will be around till end of june?

  • Hi @luketechfast and everyone, I'm wondering if you think this is the right guidance on installing our own Windows if we choose the Linux Mint system? I'd like to understand this better before choosing the Linux and ordering this PC?

    https://youtu.be/6U7INlXbchs?si=dpyycaCUCVvSW5ms

    • +1

Yes, that youtube guide will work 100%.

You can even run Windows 11 without activating a key, only downside is that you will have a Watermark showing on the desktop and it wont let your personalize your desktop/wallpaper themes and images.

  • Thank you

  • Hello Luke,

Are the PSU Options all ATX 3.0 and if not - is there an option to request / pay for an ATX 3.0 PSU?

    Kind regards,

    PepeMemeDream

    • All PSUs offered in these deals are ATX 3

  • +1

Placed an order for i7-14700F, let's see how this goes! :D

  • 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 RAM are 2x16gb or 4x8gb?

    • n00b question from me, but does having it in 2x vs 4x dimm configuration affect the performance or are you simply asking because you may want to add more ram in future for 2x setup?

      • more ram in future, yes
        @luketechfast any updates mate?

        • If it's same as their 7800X3D/4070 Ti Super build, then it'll be 2x16gb (which is what i received)

        • +1

          Sorry just saw, 2 x16

  • i7-14700F build. Why do I see it selling for $2,799?

    • ummm…didn't want to point out the obvious, but did you apply the code "14700F-4080S-EOFY" at checkout?

  • Hi Luke,

Do you know if there's any chance of similar builds including pcie 5.0 motherboards in the future? The price point is great but I'm wanting 5.0.

    Kind regards,

    PepeMemeDream

    • +1

Maybe in the future but probably not at these pricepoints

  • Hi Luke and Team,

I has been waiting for 7900x or 7950x option, any chance I can upgrade?
Also, looks like 1000w PSU not available for this deal?

    Thanks,
    Leo

  • Hi Luke and team,

Are you able to swap the CPU to the Core i7-14700K instead of the F variant?

  • Hi Luke,

have placed an order recently and I chose the option to add an extra SSD with 1TB storage. Any way i can cancel this upgrade? I've sent an email to sales already but just thought i'd ask here as well.

  • +1

I need my machine almost a month already, no news

  • Hi TechFast,

How backed up in orders are you all? This is my first time I ordered from TechFast and just want an estimate on when my new PC will be shipped. Including today, it will have been 8 business days, when your site says 1-3 business days?

    • +1

I have placed and paid my order on 11 June 2024, in website the status still Order Placed. Not happy at all. and no communication what so ever. 1st and maybe the last.

      • Did you get the SMS mobile updates? I think I did get one last Saturday, claiming they have my build on the 5-10 business day build window. So it could be up to another 2 weeks wait for me. If yours has been nearly a full month with no update it is clearly concerning. Just checked that mine says "Order Placed" still too on their website. I hope I don't have to wait long.

Has anyone else ordered from TechFast before can give us any rough estimates?

        • +1

I ordered two builds of the 7800X3D/4070TI Super on the 17/05/2024.

From order to receipt, 15 days.

But i've also read others have received it a bit later than that.

          • @Gianl3: Thanks mate. Finally shipped today. 15 business days (3 weeks). So it seems like right on where you said. Got to admit I got a little worried as the days went on, as I've never had to wait for anything this long on a order. Lets hope it arrives in great and working condition now.

  • Hi @luketechfast,

I've been keeping track of deals lately as I've been wanting to upgrade systems.

I'm interested in getting two 4080 Super W/ 7800X3D systems (one for myself and brother).

Will Techfast release another promo for this build with a valid discount code soon considering the current code no longer works? If so, would it be possible to change case to the Leaper Edge Tank ATX RGB fishtank style case you used in a previous deal?
