What going on with deactivated accounts posting laptop deals

    • +3

      *account

      The mystery continues…

      • +1

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deactivate_account

        Can I reactivate an account?

Yes, you can. If you have previously deactivated the account yourself, you can use Account Reactivation page, provided that you still remember the username, password and email address linked to your deactivated account. Otherwise please contact us with the username or email address of the account. Note that OzBargain reserves the right to deny unreasonable, repeated reactivation requests.

very suss how come 'Look Up' can keep posting deals with a deactivated account? is that his ghost doing this?

    • +4

They are reactivating their account, posting, then deactivating. Why are they allowed to keep doing this?

      • +5

ok then, so whats the point of doing this?

        • Well at least he managed to get attentions. How do they find out it's *Look up though

          • +3

@GeneralKeen: It's how the post is written, only ChatGPT Look Up writes posts like that

        • OzBer Look Up formerly known as ChatGPT just likes the attention they get lol

It's working I'll give them that

    • Users who deactivate their accounts will have their referral links purged by the system, since they are no longer considered an active user. They will also not receive any search alerts, deal alerts or notifications that they have set up.

There is absolutely zero benefit in deactivating your account right after a deal post, apart from just having the name show up as [deleted], you are just nerfing your own account and possibly robbing your future self from potential referral benefits.

      • +1

ah ok, so look up posted all these laptop deals are for his/her own benefits

        • The opposite no?

Scrim is saying there's no benefits to deactivating your account after posting.

  • Pretty good deal nonetheless

    • +3

HODL, hope EOFY sale will see good gpu laptops go around $1k, even air ticket and car prices been going down, laptops should be the same by now.

  • I have had it for almost a year. Its a great laptop if you need 16".

    • is the 3060 a low TGP? good enough for gaming?

      • +2

Yeah it’ll play most games. Not ultra settings, but for gaming away from a desktop, it’s really good, especially for this price. This isn’t much more than Steam Deck and infinitely more powerful.

        • Is the whole body and lid full aluminium?

          • @kaikor: In specifications it says aluminum but it feels and looks very different from MacBooks or Surface Laptops. Feels more like aluminum colored plastic.

  • Wish have 32gb ram option

Can this charged via usb c?

    • I'd love to know this also.

    • Yes

    • Didnt know Bunnings does price beat online too?

      • I did a price beat via their chat line the other day

    • +1

Cant do on Marketplace items as per Bunnings policy.

      • As Bunnings Marketplace products are sold and delivered by third-party Trusted Sellers, the Bunnings price guarantee and lowest prices policy does not apply to products sold on Bunnings Marketplace

    It starts with

The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G3 is a powerhouse laptop designed for professionals who demand the best.

    And continues with

    Max Memory 16 GB

    Joke must be in between

Great laptop for CAD, 3D drafting use. I have a R5 version of this and run really smooth. Its got gaming specs in a business look. Cons is battery life. Doesn't seem to last long with continuous heavy tasks. Not sure if R7 will consume even more battery.

  • +2

Unless you desperately need a laptop it is probably worth waiting because Microsoft is about to announce new Surface Pro/Laptops with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite ARM chip. Other companies will follow suite soon afterwards. The X Elite chip will bring higher battery life and more power; it benchmarks around Apple's M3 chip.

    • Will definitely HODL, sure all existing models sure will come down prices

    • They will cost a lot more than this deal.

      • The Surface devices will be but ARM laptops from other companies will be cheaper. As Kaikor said, I would also expect other laptops to come down in price once the ARM ones are released.

  • Anyone have any previous experience with Landmark Computers?

I placed an order yesterday morning for this laptop and selected express shipping.

    Didn't ship yesterday, fair enough.

Emailed them this morning to ask if it would ship today and nothing. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying extra for express shipping.

Starting to wonder if they had them in stock or have to wait for them to come from their supplier before they ship.

  • Now $1349
