Keen on the 75" but nearly double the price of the outgoing model.

Hopefully I didn't HODL for too long and complete missed the C845

    • Wait for the BF sale. It's only 6 more month and it will worth the wait 🙂

    • I think the release price was same for both models. So finger crossed C855 will get to C845 price during BF

    • Yep, there aren't any more 75" 845's in stock. I also came a bit late to the party, but I'm looking forward to the black friday sales for the 855 and I'm glad I waited: it's far brighter and has 4 times the local dimming zones, so it'll have killer black levels.

  • Is this actually any better than C845? How about Hisense this year? Do we actually have some decent miniled (same panel as US) for the U8N?

    • +2

Apparently the 855 is a significant upgrade, with 4 times the dimming zones and far higher peak brightness. I'll be interested when the reviews hit, especially if the software has good dimming response (I think they fixed the early 845 glitches).

Pretty sure the Hisense are still running the cheapo panels here and not the US u8 panels. Either way, I think tlc will have em beat with this one on price as well as features.

Yeah almost went with last year's 845, but just too many firmware horror stories, blooming and other issues I was reading from users.

  • I'd keep on eye on this thread regarding peak brightness

Looks like this guy is getting the exact same brightness as the c845

The processor is definitely better but that doesn't make the tv worth double the price.

Sounds like it's a software glitch, given it should have 1500nits higher brightness and 4 times the dimming zones. Hopefully a ota update can fix this, but we'll see how it goes.

      • From what I've heard from reviewers, TCL hasn't finalised their firmware for this years models yet

why is this expensive than OLED?

    • It's new, the oled on sale is a good deal on an older model.

    • You won't find a same sized OLED for less than this price

      • there were plenty of S90C deals recently though 65" for ~1800, without DV of course
