Shiraz with plenty of sauce. Sweet blackberry and plum flavours come liberally adorned in smoky, bacon-y oak. One sip and you’re either in love or aghast; its persona is immediately and overwhelmingly apparent. The fruit here, the juicy sweet flow of it, and the oak, so silken and smoky at once, make for pretty sexy drinking, depending of course in your tastes in wood.       Wine "MSRP" is a load of shite generally, this wine had either

      1. Not sold as well as the winery expected
      2. Been listed at an inflated RRP by the winery so it can then be offered at a steep discount on "sale"

      It's nothing spectacular but a decent enough drop for around $12, in no way worth $50 a bottle.

    Other than inflation and cost of living pressures, could also be the news that one red wine a day is not actually good for you causing oversupply and the the prices of wine to drop

    ill give it ago for 12 bucks a bottle find these are useful 'christmas gifts' for people you dont have to but 'should' give something

    ie kids teachers, older relatives that like a glass of red but dont really want you to get them anything, going to someones house warming etc

        these are usually hard working people who arent paid amazing to look after my kids a small token to say thanks might not mean much but believe it or not it goes a long way

        i used to be a swim teacher at the end of every term some parents would give me gifts, even in my current clincal roll i get 'given' gifts - it doesnt change the way i work but you do appericate id probably even say i'd go above and beyond for some of the generous clients if they needed it.

        you would be suprised how much value a 5 dollar box of chocolates, 10-15 dollar bottle of wine can unlock for you

      It's solid. I think it drinks like a $16-$20 bottle. Great value for sub $12/bottle but I'd be very disappointed if I paid $55 for one of these. As others have said - also looks great as a gift if they google the bottle!

    Look, this shiraz is an OK wine, but 95 to 96 points? I hardly think so.
    Cracked open a bottle and given the price point we have here (about $12/bottle) I'd say it's on a par with other similarly priced wines available at retailers.
    As for paying $55 from the retailer - you'll make up your own mind on that.

      Hit me with some off-the shelf $12-$15 bottles that taste this good. I'd love to stock up.

      My order arrived yesterday and it's easily as good or better than the $30 Shiraz's at my local.

      Well balanced, low acidity, went down very quickly!
