Yet the cafe and colesworth will still charge exorbitant prices for them. Awesome steal! Shame we're in Vic, TA!!!!

    and called the store

    Plus 1 for the effort.

    • Cheers for that :)

      • Nice find arse. How many did you buy?

        • +5

Don't think I can get them shipped to Vic 😞

          • +1

@tightarse: Me sad too at 5c, I would have gone OzB… Well at least six anyway.

          • @tightarse: What's the Point if we can't get them shipped to Victoria.

    • +4

5 cents for the avocado, $14.95 to know how to smash it.

      • +2

        are they all rotten

    • -2

These are residual after dealing with supermarkets. Supermarkets cannot buy all farmers got as they have their own volume to digest and they are not dealing with one farm where rejection might happen.

here are sold at this ridiculous price to get rid of, not because they are generous lol. Your avocados become more expensive with delivery to you closest stores.

This is normal when yields are higher than market needs.

Awesome! So cheap. Thanks for sharing! Will head there shortly

  • +8

for those not that direction not quite as good but CoCo's in Annerley is $5 for a tray, approx 25 per tray so 20c each

    • There was somewhere in Southwest Sydney doing $3 trays also.

    • Ya ya ya Coco jumboo ya ya yeh

    Great find OP!
Excellent value for those in proximity.

These are great bulk-buy for long term use.

Peel > deseed > mash + drizzle with Lemmon juice > pack in portions (vacuum seal in zip-lock bags or in non-plastic tubs) > freeze.

Blend frozen in smoothies, or unfreeze for use in dips, spreads, recipes, etc

    • how long it takes to thaw them and use as spread? do you use microwave or leave it for hours at room temp?

      • +1

About 1 hr - give or take - in room temp.

Less crystallisation - if properly mushed, small portion packed/ air sealed.

A little slow I know. I wouldn’t recommend thawing ‘vcados via microwave.

      • +1

freeze them in zip lock bags around 1cm thick of smashed avocado takes 1 min to thaw under warm water

        • Do the avocados go brown when you defrost them? If you freeze them in zip lock bags do you add lemon juice? I noticed YoursTruly said he drizzles them with lemon juice.

          • +1

@Tyrannosaurus Rex: they don't really brown when its frozen, just push all the air out before freezing, as long as theres no air contact and its frozen its fine, but when you unfreeze make sure you finish it within a day, you can add lemon juice to slow down browning but i dont like the taste

I can't believe it! I can finally achieve my dream of home ownership!!!

  • Love this place, all their super cheap deals like this they always have plenty of stock and get more in over the next few days. It's not like coles/woolies etc oh sorry we only had 3 at that price but here you can buy this $5 one instead.

  • +3

Also, for those not near Annerley or Victoria Point….
Blunder Road Country Market in Oxley has them for 9c each.

  • -3

But do they taste like shit? I got bananas for 9c a kg a while ago at a fruit shop. They looked like woolies bananas but they tasted like cardboard

    • Hass are in season now in QLD, and there is a glut currently. They should be fresh and tasty.

      • Like when they were just throwing out pineapples

  • Hoping to get sub $1 in Vic soon. Yum Yum…..

  • I feel sorry for the farmer. Colesworth probably rejected these, and the farmer had to dump them.

  • For those people up in north Brisbane, T-Bones in Aspley has them for $5 for a tray of 28, so 18 cents each.

    • T bones hit and miss store

      Sometimes you get rotten shit

Great price. However too far from my place in Western Sydney to get that. :(

    • +1

Maybe all us Sydney folk can chip in and organise a bulk delivery.

We get so ripped off here.

      • +2

Spare a thought for Melbournians also

  • +1

Majority of people in Brisbane won't drive there because it takes ages to get to Victoria Point… Feels like a forever road

    • The key is to live in the best LGA in SEQ!

  • Hass avocados 9c each this weekend at Blunder Road Country Market in Oxley (south-west Brisbane).

  • Avocados are great recently.

Nothing this cheap around my area but have been buying them for $3 a kg which is good value.

Also been buying some big ass Hass Avo for $1.50. I can live with that. Weighed one the other day- 430grams

  • This has got to be one of the best if not the best bargain every posted.

GG, thanks for posting, wish I was there to buy as many as i can, would buy for all my family and neighbours.

  • +1

When you see prices like this on fruit & veg it is because it is cheaper to sell them at a loss than costs incurred trying to dispose of them. “Throwaway prices”

    • -2

exactly.. not sure how blind some are.. thinking of this to be fair price to be sold lol

  • +1

Thanks TA. What a bargain. Gave me a reason for a drive to Vicky Point.
