Queer as buggery and I wouldn't be proud to wear those pride bands…

"Hello, this is Tim Cook, is that the design department? Good, shut up. Any chance this year you can make our pride bands look like the seat covering of a Cityrail Train Replacement bus?"

    • lol I see what u mean haha u can barely even tell it’s supposed to be pride

      • It looks more like hundreds and thousands 😆

    • yeah it just looks like corporate art style sprinkles. i got a pride band for $4 on AliExpress, does the job

I’m straight, but I got the old pride band to get access to the underground discount network.

      • What are you even doing with that much lube?!

    Everything sold out it seems

Not really a deal when majority is already sold out

Stupid question but why do you buy official Apple watch bands. Wouldn't it be significantly cheaper to buy a band off Amazon or Ali Express. It's the same way as buying a Samsung or Nothing branded case for significantly more than it should be.

I’d pay the extra for better quality control if I had a brand new $1400 Apple Watch Ultra on my wrist.

I don’t though, so I’ll stick to cheap bands for my banged up Apple Watch 7.

I'm using a Garmin FR245 and I'm currently using a cheap band after the official Garmin band broke. I've noticed no difference between the two. Also that is ridiculously shocking that the Apple Watch Ultra is $1400. I knew they were expensive but not this expensive. It's more than an iPhone, Macbook or iPad.

With many status symbols, you can pay extra to show that you paid extra.

@askvictor: The hardest to do & show is investing in the mind/reason. The easiest to do/show is the stomach & iGadgets (equally "beneficial" & opposite of the 1st/hardest ;)
I spent $45 for the amazing Amazfit band 7 that links on 100% platforms & 80% functionality of Apple that works on only 20% platforms & locks you to the walled garden.
I prefer creativity & optimal spending on more important & longer lasting things. Every next-gen is better, why spend so much on obsolescence?

        • Ive had a few cheapies for my old garmin 6x sapphire which didnt age well, started cracking or rusting, same for my apple watch ultra 2. But I guess as long as they last 6months each they still cheaper long term right :D

        • Yeah it’s a stupid amount of money but if having an expensive fitness watch is going to motivate you to get off the couch then it’s probably worth it.

I’ve seriously considered upgrading for the extra battery life but can’t get my head around the price.

        • I’ve got a mix of Apple and third party bands from AliExpress etc. In all cases the Apple band is nicer, fits the watch better etc. It is a noticeable difference particularly in terms of material feel for the sports bands.

I still keep and occasionally use the third party ones as they’re still good enough and if you want a variety of bands it’ll cost a lot to build up a collection of official ones. They’re compromised but they’re also 10-20% of the price and “good enough”. I’d stick to getting Apple ones in sales or second hand even.

Can’t really say how Garmin watch bands compare to third parties, but the difference between official and unofficial there could be closer.

Since getting a Series 6 watch with a woven band but I’ve barely touch any other band, be it Apples or third party. Such a great band if it fits and after 3 or 4 years it’s held up much better than I expected.

    • Quality basically :-)

I've tried a couple and seen a few 3rd party bands, and they are bad.
I wouldnt trust my expensive watch to stay on my wrist with them.

But if anyone has any suggestions for decent 3rd party bands, I'd love to know!

Cant really stomach paying Apple prices these days! :-)

Managed to purchase the Olive Sport Band, which wasn't my favorite, but it was one of the available options that I liked.

will not fit Watch X coming out in July August

    • Rumoured that it might not, and coming in September.

      • about 7 months to christmas so this is far closer than you thank

bought 3 bands for $10 on Ebay several times already, quality seems great no issues at all

    • If you needed 3 bands several times already, there might be some quality issues?

It’s a wearable device so it’s not unreasonable to assume that you would occasionally change out the band for aesthetic (rather than functional) reasons

      • broke my genius radar right there,

dont suppose youve ever bought something for a friend

        • Sorry I didn't though about that option, but assumed they're breaking up easily so you need too many of them. :)

          • @Jef Tino: why would i post here if that was the case?

just thought $10 ill give it a shot, and yea, surprised how good they are, friends so happy as well, you can pick any colour you want, dont understand why pay $30 each - crazy

  • +3

thanks now I just need an apple watch

Unless you have better investment options. (Amazfit band 7 was $45 & bought 2 for the family - extra light, don't even notice I wear it :).

  • do these fit a standard watch?
