      What's wrong with lenovo

      • Agreed, but my past 2 lenovos had crappy wifi cards. every time I had to replace them myself. My Legion is almost 5 years old now and has been a workhorse - office, gaming everything I throw at it. Cooling has been great too. fans are noisy though

        • +1

These have Intel AX210 WiFi cards in them. We deploy heaps of this exact model and have not had any issues with them.

          • +1

@joshau: I personally own the AMD variant of this model and constantly have wifi issues which no other device has. It usually requires me turning off wifi restarting and turning back on to work. I also recall researching others having similar issues.

For reference I have another laptop, desktop and mobile without issue in same room.

            • @ChupaCabra: Yes, I also have similar issues with my AMD x13 Lenovo.
Is it possible to swap the wifi card to wifi 7 from few of the recent deals posted.

            • @ChupaCabra: That's probably because you have a Mediatek based WiFi card which are known to have issues.

        Wish I had these problems.

        I’d be happy with 6”

Terrible keyboard, makes me swear everytime I use it.

    • Not a great OLED screen either, according to NotebookCheck it's shiny and flickers, but this is the IPS model and a very good machine for the price.

      • +1

Practically all OLED displays in existence are a glossy screen.

  • How does the Arc Xe 7 compare to 780m?

  • Was 1099

    • +1

You mean the old model? This is 2024 model.

  • Looking for below $1k with 16/32 gb ram

    • If you claim trs this will be

      • Of course, you'd be declaring it on the way back in as well wouldn't you? ;) ;)

        • +1

Yeah. But while overseas i will put some decals on it to make it looks secind hand therefore the value would drop significantly below my free tax quota.

    • Was about to recommmend the Dell Latitude from Centrecom that was posted, 32gb and 2tb storage, was down to $999, but the extra $100 off has ended, so back to $1099

  • Can this handle light gaming? Like DOTA2 or CSGO

    • +3

I run KSP on mine without issue.. I'm sure it'd be fine for those titles though unsure of fps on max graphics

    • +1

Yes, you should be able to get 66fps on DOTA2 (FHD, ultra). CSGO should be a walk in the park, but if you upgrade to CS2, you may want to drop settings to Med to get 58fps. See: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Arc-7-Cores-iGPU-Benchma…

  • 2.8k ips or 2.8k oled ?
which one should be better with same configuration?

    • +2

OLED is the better screen, but IPS will be better for battery life. FWIW, we deploy a heap of these exact model with the IPS display option, and they are excellent displays. They get decently bright, and the 2.8K res at 14" just blows everything else away. 120Hz is the cherry on top, especially when these are largely deployed for Office work. The OLED might be better for content consumption and gaming, but for everything else, I'd just get the IPS.

    • +1

OLED would be better if you only care about the quality of display (colors, viewing angle, black level, contrast etc). They are obviously expansive too. But they come with the inherited burn in issue. IPS screens on the other hand are very reliable (and cheaper) with many of the good qualities (viewing angle etc) but with not so good contrast.

  • thinking of using for work (mainly browser stuff) and light-mid gaming (batman arkham, portal). will this suffice, also whats battery life at

  • Does the 10% email sign-up code stack with this 'EOFY24' coupon code and the 15% Cashrewards cashback?

I can't get the 10% email sign-up code to come through though.

    • No the email sign up is more of a marketing thing than anything else, it only applies to products that aren't already discounted. Unfortunately most products at Lenovo are on 'sale' all the time.

      • That's unfortunate! Would be sweet to get another 10% on top!

  • is the code work for other laptops?

  • Can anyone confirm whether cashback should track on this laptop + coupon?

  • How accurate is the delivery estimate? The laptop I'm looking at is estimated at 2-3 weeks delivery time. I'm going overseas on 25 May. Is that cutting it too close?

    • In my experience ordering from their site with future delivery dates, it either ships quickly (within the first week), or it's consistently late. If you're trying to get something by the 25th of May, I'd say you're probably cutting it too close.

  • Would anyone know how this laptop would compare build quality-wise to a Dell Latitude 7430 or similar?

Just for general flex durability and the always important keyboard would be good to know. For everything else, this would definitely trump it.

    • +2

So, we deploy this exact model, and used to deploy Dell Vostro's and Latitude's. I prefer the build on the Lenovo, it feels more solid and premium, and I've never had issues like trackpad rattle or keyboard flex like I've had on Dell's in the past.

      • Awesome, thanks for the reply. How does the keyboard compare to the Latitude? As good? Similar key travel? That's probably my only real concern given I type on it a lot.

        • +1

To be honest, I haven't used the keyboard on the Latitude enough to comment, but the Lenovo keyboard has plenty of travel, and is probably slightly better compared to other Dell keyboards I've used in the past. Certainly not a terrible keyboard, and very close/similar to the keyboard on their ThinkPad line, which is pretty universally regarded as the best keyboard on the market.

  • Does this definitely have the spare M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot? Cant find any on the lenovo website.

  • Would have bought if 16 inch

  • 14% cashback at cash rewards for next few hours

  • Would you say the 2.8K (2880 x 1800), OLED, Glare, Non-Touch, HDR 500, 100%DCI-P3, 400 nits, 120Hz plus the ultra 7 155h instead of the ultra 5 is worth the extra $300?

Would come to $1452.54 with the current 14% cash back.

Seems like not a bad deal.
