Looking for equivalent to Intel NUC, given ASUS’s long term commitment to platform is unclear. Does Lenovo have anything?
Edit: Ignore below, I thought this was a reply to Legion Go deal.
I don't think they have a Legion Go with Intel inside yet, but I just found a Lenovo LOQ laptop with Intel Arc 530M graphics card which is prized cheaper than this Legion Go! Looks like they're already working with Intel which is promising
was looking to get Intel ultra 5 or 7 processor. Any recommendations on should go for that or ryzen 7. No heavy gaming, mostly personal use
No heavy gaming, mostly personal use
Gaming doesn't count as personal use?
Absolutely make a screen recording as you make this purchase. I made a Lenovo purchase based on a 10% Cashrewards last year, which they didn't honour (the activation showed up but "you clicked a competitor referral link etc." I absolutely did not.)
Stiffed me out of $150, meaning I made the purchase under false advertising. Hope someone sets up a class action lawsuit one day and I can forward a few emails, get a few dollars back, but in the meantime, learn from me, record evidence for a transaction this size and get your money!
Even with the evidence, i have have $180 declined cashback to say that the store didn't pay Cashrewards without any reason being given so they are sorry. I don't think screenshots even get you the guarantee
I had a $200+ Cashrewards cash back declined for Energy Australia because I didn't proceed with the sign-up. The EA rep confirmed my sign-up was via the Cashrewards merchant. Cashrewards stiffed me and pocketed $$$. It's theft.
I got $630 cashback from Cashrewards for Legion purchase. It got tracked quickly, but was paid out 2 months later. I did the transaction in Cashrewards app and Lenovo site was opened inside the Cashrewards app.
Damn, that's decent! I don't think they're actively blocking, just that their systems are poorly implemented and frequently buggy, and there's no recourse to resolution if something goes wrong out of your control. If you've got an activation timestamp and then a purchase timestamp within minutes of each other then they should honour it unless they can demonstrate explicitly you were not legitimate.
Yea, agree, buggy system. You did not get paid ,but did your order/cashback get tracked immediately or not?
If my order had not got tracked immediately, I would have also been forced to cancel my order.@Sub: Not immediately tracked, but had it in the click history, and gave me the option to inquire. I sent through paperwork and it was provisionally accepted, then months later rejected.
@Phanatic: oh that's bad!
@Sub: Mine tracked immediately but still got a rejection months later when it was time to get approved.
"Thanks for contacting us regarding your declined transaction with Avis. I hope your day is going well.
I have reviewed your transaction in the store's system and can see that the store has declined this transaction for cashback. Because of this, Cashrewards has not received any payment for this purchase to be passed on to you. Although we have not received a specific reason for the decline of your cashback, below are some of the most common causes of sales being declined for cashback.
• Having opened other web pages (including search sites, social media, or other store sites) or web browsers whilst visiting the store
• Clicking through to another page from a banner or ad on the store's web page whilst shopping; AdBlock/Antivirus/cleanup application tasks may remove tracking cookies (which are required to track transactions).
• Use of a coupon code not listed on Cashrewards. Please accept our apologies for not being able to provide you with better news on this occasion."
None of these things applied for my end.
@Royale with cheese: Sounds like they using all kind of BS excuses not to pay the money, and you already paid and bought the laptop, can't do anything at all.
@Royale with cheese: Yea, that is BS/flimsy email response from Cashrewards. Lenovo and Cashrewards should be hold accountable.
Does Fairtrading help?
For my cashback (of that big amount), if they had refused, I would have gone to Fairtrading for sure. Its infuriating when taken for ride.@Sub: Yes i am very unhappy with that response. They are advertising all these online stores so they should be answerable or at least should try harder with stores to honor cashback. Not sure if fair trading will help due to Cashrewards dodgy policies
any good deal from Lenovo at the moment?
Will the cashback be voided on coupons that are applied automatically like EOFY24?
It shouldn't do - this is what it says on Cashrewards:
"Special terms:
Cashback is eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards."Mind you, saying that, I'm not sure I trust them that much as I've had things declined in the past that were legit and it's really hard to do anything about it.
It would be good if a Lenovo rep can confirm here…
EOFY24 is listed at a code on Cashrewards, if that helps.
Any cap on this?
Cashback is ineligible on the following:
The portion of payments made using MyLenovo Rewards Points and/or any Lenovo credits. Can't use the short expiry credits from previous buys lol
Any good deals?
