NordVPN: 95% Cashback for New NordVPN Customers

TA's Tips:

  • A new customer is defined by NordVPN, and nothing to do with your TopCashbackAU account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same TopCashbackAU account as always, and you're good to go.
  • Click/tap through TopCashbackAU, don't click/tap away to other sites looking for codes, don't use any 3rd party plugins, and avoid browsers such as Brave. Best to use the TopCashbackAU mobile app on 4G/5G as this eliminates potential issues with WiFi/router firewalls etc. Tracking for NordVPN is not instantaneous and may take a few hours.
  • All plans (discounted or not, excluding upsold products) are eligible for the increased cashback (2-year, 1-year, monthly). Remove up-sold products such as NordPass & NordLocker as they are ineligible for cashback. So unless you really need or want the extras, best option (IMHO) is to choose one of the Basic plans and not Plus or Complete.
  • A tip from comments in previous posts is to select a country with no GST to save further at checkout as GST is ineligible for cashback. Pay with a card that does not charge overseas transaction fees.
  • And finally remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee. Should tracking fail or if you’re not happy with the product, I strongly suggest cancelling rather than submitting a claim as you're then in the hands of NordVPN's analytics for attribution.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback can only be earned by customers opening a new NordVPN account. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is eligible on the VPN service only. Upsold products like NordPass & NordLocker are ineligible for cashback.
  • NordVPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on payments made with Crypto currency.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • NordVPN trades in US dollars meaning the purchase amount and the cashback amount tracked may vary due to conversion rates.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

  • I am thinking to get this for India. First time getting a VPN. As per NordVPN, there is a 2-year plan + 3 EXTRA months (A$4.39/mo) = A$118.53. Does that mean after cashback it will cost me around $5.92.

Just asking, as per term and cond. 'Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback'. The original cost of this plan in $445.23 and now is $118.53 which has 73% off deal without using any code.

I'm thinking of getting this VPN for India—mainly because of the 95% cashback offer. This would be my first time using a VPN.

According to NordVPN, the current deal is a 2-year plan + 3 extra months (A$4.39/mo) = A$118.53. With 95% cashback, that would bring the final cost down to around A$5.92.

Just checking: the terms and conditions say "Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback." The original price of the plan is A$445.23, but it's currently showing as A$118.53 with a 73% off deal—without applying any code.

Does that mean the cashback should still be eligible (i have not used any code, it is just a NordVPN discount)?

    • The 2-year basic plan + 3 EXTRA months (A$4.39/mo) = A$118.53 (tax free) would be eligible for cashback (no code used, automated discount).

NordVPN trades in US dollars. The cost after 95% cashback could be several dollars more than A$5.92 depending on which credit/debit card is used (international transaction fees or no fees and exchange rate). If you use PayPal, there is usually an extra charge from PayPal for the currency conversion.

      • Thanks, will pay with no fees / no exchange rate credit card. so should be fine.

  • I assume you cannot add dedicated IP?

    • you mean "will adding that feature affect tracking the cashback?" ?

      • I mean can a dedicated IP also be claimed for cashback?

  • +2

got the site tracked after like 15 mins after i completed my purchases of nord. first time using this cashback site.
its telling me estimate 16 weeks for payout.

    • how much did you pay vs tracked vs est cashback?

      • +1

$130.38 including GST, $118.53 excluding, $112.44 tracked, est. cashback $106.82.

        • +2

Next time, choose a country without GST (eg Christmas Island) as per post description under TA's Tips:

A tip from comments in previous posts is to select a country with no GST to save further at checkout as GST is ineligible for cashback.

          • @trixieb: I was concerned it may interfere with the cashback being tracked so I didn't risk it.

        • A bit confused.
If you paid $130.38 why only $112 tracked ? Cashabck is 95% of tracked right ?

          • +1

@ChessLover51: because they dont give cashback for GST. GST is lost money usually always, but in this unique purchase, you can select places such as Christmas Island which dont have GST so you can avoid paying GST which is a percentage of the total cost, 10% in Australia. My question is that why doesnt christmas island have gst when it is part of australia.

            • @AS1253: They are external:

Christmas Island, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Norfolk Island are Australian external territories and they are not considered part of Australia for GST purposes.

          • +1

@ChessLover51: As mentioned here, if you choose a country with no GST, cost would be around $118.53 (no GST).

$112.44 tracked is probably from the currency conversion from NordVPN as it trades in US dollars. 95% cashback is around $106.82.

Cost also depends on which credit/debit card is used (international transaction fees or no fees and exchange rate). If you use PayPal, there is usually an extra charge from PayPal for the currency conversion.

            T&Cs:

NordVPN trades in US dollars meaning the purchase amount and the cashback amount tracked may vary due to conversion rates.

            • @trixieb: So essentially, it's AUD 118 without GST and cashabck would be AUD 106 which is 90% discount not 95%, right?

          • @ChessLover51:

            $112.44 tracked, est. cashback $106.82.

So.they took off GST and also did some funny exchange rate calculation, but you get billed in $au, but that a shitty exchange rate used by Nord (so they make money), then they remove the GST, them they use another shitty exchange rate to $au which they give to SB

TLDR: always use a non-taxing country/area, always use $US for payment.

  • Hi, I'm currently using NordVPN. Next month it'll be expired. If I use new email address, will they define me as a new customer? (I've never used TopCashback AU service.) Because they know my IP / IPS address.

    • if you use a new email address and make a new nordvpn account you should still be able to redeem this deal, you can keep the same topcashback account but you dont have one it seems so you can make a new one for that too.

Also please note, when you sign up to TopCashback for this NordVPN offer:

NordVPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.

  • $112 tracked, $106 pending. Estimated payable is 16 weeks.

    • $106 pending in your bank? How? Meaning you will earn $6?

      • +1

$106 cashback is pending in the TopCashback account under Earnings. It will take up to 16 weeks for NordVPN to confirm the order and then pay.
It would cost at least $6 (after cashback) for this VPN. Actual amount charged on card (eg $118+) may vary depending on card used and it would be more than $112.

        • Costs $11.55 for me compared to $9 I paid 2 years ago. Still good price. Tho not as good as the 100% deal which I forgot to take 2 months ago.

          • @bcYield: With the 100% cashback offer, you may not actually get 100% cashback due to the currency conversion fees and depends on the card used. In one of the 100% cashback offers with TopCashback, I had a loss of about $6 when l paid with PayPal using a credit card (without international transaction fees) and chose a tax free country (Bahrain). The discrepancy would probably be from NordVPN and PayPal's currency conversion fees.

            • @trixieb: Looks like 5% or $6 flat extra weather it's 100% or 95%. This deal is $6 + $6 = 10% out of $118.

              • +1

@bcYield: It depends on the card used. I don't have the best card (e.g. Wise). There are comments on OzB about paying a lot less than $6 for 100% cashback with TopCashback e.g.

                • Using a Wise card. Cost $3.67 after 100% cashback.
                • Using an ANZ card with PayPal. Profit of $1.89 after 100% cashback. Not sure if this is accurate as PayPal usually adds a fee.
  • I can't quite remember, but wasn't this VPN company found to be a CIA shadow company?
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    • Yeah most are ;)

    • I'm not able to verify your claim.
People into conspiracy theories have their opinions on VPN companies and NSA/CIA/FBI.

  • 118 cost, 112 tracking, 106 refund.

Somewhere some money got lost on the way. $12 for 27 months isn't so bad though.

    • The discrepancy would probably be the currency conversion from NordVPN.

  • Same here. Paid - 118.53, Purchase amount by NordVPN - $112.28 and Cashback tracked - $106.67.

  • Just paid $118 using US address and turned off the auto renewal straight away (new users must do). Not tracked yet.

2 years ago, I paid $124 and got $115 cashback via cashreward.

  • Nord VPN is scam.
With Cashrewards, Nord VPN rejected to pay my cashback into my Cashrewards account, saying: "my transactoin went through another channel!" …. so, they didn't pay Cashrewards, and thus Cashrewards didn't pay me

    It is a serious warning.

    • +1

post says you can cancel within 30 days, why didnt you read the fine print

      • -1

        This is irrelevant!
I wanted to have the Nord VPN while also getting the cashback.
The cashback was payable after 3-4 months

        • no its not if it doesnt track just cancel it

          • @Freestyle: That's the problem.
It tracked very well in my Cashrewards account, but they rejected to pay as I explained.

  • How long does it take for TCB to track this?

    • Maybe 2 hours. I forgot to select a no-GST place, and cannot be bothered cancelling and re-doing, so it's AUD130 with AUD106 cashback for me. Interestingly I am currently in Europe the basic price was EUR83 (approx AUD150) but when I turned on the VPN to access the nordvpn site from Australia the basic price was AUD118

  • Followed the above instructions. Over 48hrs. Not tracked. Submitted a claim. I feel like I'm going to get scammed on this one :/

    • +3

Sorry to hear. In the post description, the rep has suggested it is better to cancel the NordVPN subscription instead of submitting a claim, under the NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee.

If you choose to cancel the NordVPN subscription, you can also then cancel the missing cashback claim.

      TA's Tips:

And finally remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee. Should tracking fail or if you’re not happy with the product, I strongly suggest cancelling rather than submitting a claim as you're then in the hands of NordVPN's analytics for attribution.

    • +1

Had the same thing happen ages ago and as TA advised, I cancelled the signup, not worth worrying for weeks then a finding out later it gets rejected. If Nord chose not to pay, the cashback company won't be able to overturn it.

Successful cashback on the 2nd signup and fingers crossed the third!

      • Different email address on second with Nord? What about with the cashback site? Different email also?

        • +1

Different email address for NordVPN only to be considered a new customer for cashback. You use the same TopCashback account and don't need to change your email with TopCashback.
