[PC, Steam] Dead Space (2023) $31.48 (65% off) @ Steam

110

This is an all-time low price for the Steam version of the Dead Space (2023) remake.
Deck Verified and is playable on the Steam Deck as per ProtonDB.

The Deluxe Edition is also on sale for $34.98, but I see no point in giving EA any more money for cosmetics if they're not going to bother remaking Dead Space 2.

Hi OP. I happened to spot this yesterday as I continually checking Steam for a Half Life Alyxx special as I missed the last one.

Kudos to you for posting this great deal indeed. Not sure if I should pull the trigger since I have played the orig a few times already and this might feel too samey?

I honestly can't say since I've never played the original game (heresy, I know!), but judging from the reviews I've read and watched, people seem to really like this remake, it stays true to the original while improving and changing up/redesigning a number of things. It sounds like there's enough new things to warrant a buy, though if you're on the fence it might be worth waiting for it to drop in price further.

BTW regarding checking Steam for sales, I recommend you sign up to IsThereAnyDeal, you can get free email alerts when a specific game goes on sale. It's a lifesaver.

Thanks for the Reddit link. Didn't realise that it is on Gamepass and that there's a 14 day trial for $1. Though don't think it's Steam Deck compat since I wanna play it mainly there. Probably still gonna buy the game anywayz. Typical me.

Also I will give a IsThereAnyDeal a go too. 👍

great deal indeed? Definitely not. Its completely overpriced at $89! its called marketing tactic where you make the original price absurdly high so yeah 65% off brings it to $31 for a remaster of the 2008 original. Even that is questionable at that price.

  • I played the original DS and it was great, but have near zero interest in playing it again with a few (alleged) improvements. There are so many great new games to replay one I'vealready finished.

If someone released a shot for shot remake of a great old movie, like Raiders of the Lost Ark, but with better visuals, I would have zero interest in watching all of that also.

I guess the target audience for these is mostly new players who may be put off by the original game being 'old'?
