Same here :)
Wasted money !
Plain Water is cheapest and best for cleaning windshields and doesn't harm rubber or paintwork.
We need to minimise use of any chemicals for many reasons!
Do you also wash your car with plain water to remove bugs and road grime?
Yes works very well with a car washing brush.
And thats how you effectively wash a windscreen as well
@boomramada: Well if you are using a floor scrubbing brush on your car, then yes!
Or using a car wash brush without plenty of water….
Maybe you should stop doing that.
In 50 years of washing my cars with a car wash brush on the end of a hose, I have never seen any scratches in my paintwork.
And you dont think using your windcsreen wipers to clean your windcsreen could scratch your windscreen, regardless of whats in the windscreen washer reserviour?
I will tell you now the best way to clean your windcsreen and your wipers is with water and a car wash brush my friend.
But you wash your car your way and I will do it my way.

Couldn't agree more, no need to negative this deal. 💁♂️
Thanks OP, I was just about to buy this yesterday, but glad that I waited.
Don't forget to add the zip up jacket
Great price!
thanks
Contains ethanol and ethoxylated alcohol, good for cleaning glass but will strip protection off your paint and dry out window rubbers making them like hard plastic.
any other products you can recommend? im using bars bugs atm
Water
A few drops of your regular car wash, but not wash and wax as it will streak.
I use Bowden's Own Wipe Out
Pretty expensive for what it is, but I dilute to 100:1 or 200:1. Failing that I'll probably just use water.
I do use water from our water purifier. Not that I care about residue, but I worry about calcium build-up stuffing up the pump.
Just add some car wash or dish soap
Dish soap is highly alkaline and will also strip paint protection if that's of any concern.
says:
Conditions blades to reduce wear and increase performance
How would it do this and dry out your window rubbers?
"Conditions" is ambiguous. In this instance it just means "it cleans", it's not necessarily adding anything or reconditioning the rubber (which I think is what you're actually referring too, ie using chemicals to remove a layer or rejuvenate the rubber).
Using a product like this long term will have an impact on your rubber/paint. I learned the hard way (using a similar product) and had slowly worn through the clearcoat to the paint on my car roof before I even noticed (~6 months).
and had slowly worn through the clearcoat to the paint on my car
LOL No.
There's absolutely no way that Bosch would put their brand on a screenwash harsh enough to do this.
Secondly, what do you propose was actually in the screenwash that enabled it to dissolve the clearcoat layer ? Brake fluid ?
That's a bonkers assertion.
Dude, you are not supposed to drink the stuff!
What are your thoughts on the Trico branded solution?
I'd recommend not using this to wash your car sir. Use regular car wash for things other than your windshield.
OOS
Available again @erebos
Thanks OP got one. Coming up in stock for me!
Back in stock. Thanks OP
Came back in. Perfect timing as I need this.
Is it really that bad if I mix with tap water rather than trying to source distilled water?
no, it's fine
trying to source distilled water?
Available at colesworth for ~ $1/L
$0/L from your dehumidifier, if you have one 😎
But you don't need this for windscreen washer liquid, tap water is fine.
Funnily enough I actually do have a dehumidifier but ever since we moved places we haven't used it in a while since we (thankfully) no longer have a humidity issue!
squeeze and bucket at petrol station just uses tap water, so you wouldn’t use that to clean windows as they don’t use distilled water ?
It was more the effort of buying it, mixing it, etc… but sounds like I can just use good ol' tap water (which is what I've historically used).
Tap water is ok for moving dust and dirt but any greasy bug splatter requires a bit more ooooomph.
is this cheaper than those tablets you can get on Aliexpress?
I've really got to find an sds data sheet. I reckon all the tablets are pretty similar formula. Probably some kind of salts
Thanks. Bought for $10 a couple of hours ago. Cancelled and re ordered
On Amazon, the "customers who bought this item also bought…." is a pure tribute to the influence of this great website!!
Literally had one delivered yesterday, only thing I can do is to buy another one bring the average down :D
Can this be poured directly or does it need to be diluted with water?
Read the prominent red label on the front of the bottle 👍
Ok, I really put my mind to it and concentrated on the red label. What next?
You now have the answer to your question 😁
It's concentrated, and there's enough in the bottle to treat your filled tank 10 times.
@Nom: how much is a shot? a cap full? then rest is water? do u premix or mix inside the tank? omg so many questions just take it to the mechanic
cheers hamza
Ordered. Thanks OP
Thanks OP
Does this work on EVs?
I prefer to use a 200:1 mix of Model 3 owner tears after finding out what their cars worth 3 years later.
You can also get this in 5 litres for $30.95 (free delivery)
https://www.parts360.com.au/bosch-bwa5l-windscreen-wiper-was…
Hmm, but that isn't concentrate. What's the ratio/value between the 2?
There is a red (blurry) label that suggests that it is in fact the concentrate. The same product from SCA is a little clearer suggesting 100 shots per bottle (ie 50mL per 1L), which is the same ratio as this post. Hope that helps.
I see, thanks.
this one in 5L is concentrate as well….

You just pour as it is or need to mix water?
it's concentrate - gotta mix it up first. (check the label pic)
just add a shot then fill the reservoir with water
As others have mentioned, the instructions for using it as washer fluid in the car are pretty ambiguous in what ratio to mix - "add a measure"… but I just poured a bit (maybe 10% of the bottle?) into my 3L resovoir after filling it with distilled water from Big W and I hace to admit, it's worked a treat. Windscreen looks great whenever I use the washer/wiper.
Thanks! Purchased at $10.30 - so had to buy again!!!
