I'll mostly use them on bikes. And also to look pretty and colourful in my tool pouch.
It didn't look like this set was going to go on sale so I picked up a stainless steel set a couple of weeks ago instead - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B000VCZQ74 . I paid less ($31.66) but they're huge in comparison, weighing in at over half a kilo.
oh wow! I did look at them, but had no idea they'd be anywhere near that heavy. That would make them almost unusable for me.
It's definitely not the compact set I was hoping for. I could still return them but it was UK via AU so a bit of a pain. I'll keep them in my toolbox but might look for something more portable. I do have an old draper set which is missing a one or two so it might be simpler to replace those missing.
I have this black laser set and they're not any lighter. 580g
I bought this recently so was hoping for something of a similar size
Haha got the same one- it's and absolute beast! I wanted a long shank on the ball end and definitely got that with this set!! Most of the weight is in the top 3 sized keys!
Thank you
Torx also on sale
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00E8HM9N2Did anyone else just get scammed with this?
I ordered a set of the Hex keys from this deal, and also a set of Torx keys as noted in my earlier comment.
The package arrived today, with the set of Torx keys, but also with some random crappy adjustable wrench head in the packet, instead of the Hex key set.
i got my hex keys. That was all I ordered. Customer support at Amazon is always pretty responsive if you complain
Wait, no, it was the Torx keys that I didn't get, I got the Hex keys. gah
is it the really nice joker wrench?
@chrismelba: Its not Wera, is some junk brand tool. But looking more closely, its a 1/2" crows-foot adjustable wrench and it is listed on Amazon and costs over $90. Maybe it wasn't a scam and was some kind of mix up, and whoever ordered this crows-foot is spewing because they got my Torx keys instead.
@stumo: just contact support. They'll refund you or send you the torx
@chrismelba: Yep am sorting it now. They are good to deal with every time I've had to.
I'm now thinking this crows-foot wrench will be very useful for my Unimog. Most of the bolts on that thing are massive, so having one of these adjustable crows foot heads, coupled to a decent breaker bar, would replace a set of big open end spanners as it goes to 45mm.
So I might just keep it lol. And if its any good in practice, I might buy another.
If it was an Amazon Global order, the supplier wont necessarily be Amazon.
So maybe it was a dodgy third party supplier over there or maybe just a listing mix up.Either way like already said you're unlikely to end up out of pocket, just out of torx.
Weru you use these?
