Easiyo Products 1/2 Price @ Woolworths (1kg Yogurt Maker $12.50, Yogurt Bases $2.85)

70

All Easiyo products (the yogurt maker and the yogurt bases) are currently 50% off at Woolworths.

Each base makes 1kg of yogurt.

Paying full price for the bases means you're not saving much money on ready made yogurt (in fact, probably losing money), however at half price it's excellent value. I cleared out most of the stock from my local store.

EasiYo Black Yogurt Maker and Jar

Make your own fresh Yogurt with an EasiYo Yogurt Maker.

The sleek black colour looks modern, and the size is compact enough to fit on many kitchen shelves.

Given what's going on with Woolworths at the moment in front of the senate, and given how their CEO is comporting themselves, I have decided to give Woolworths a break for a good while.

you can also make yoghurt using a spoonful of your current yoghurt as a starter

Easy-yo, breakmakers, sodastream… every house was full of these in the 90s.

  • FWIW I have issue that the yoghurt starters packs use Soy as an emulsifier

If you have spoonful yoghurt with live cultures, its easy to make your own
to buy it first time Aldi has pot set organic yoghurt with live cultures, after that you can keep using left overs from previous batch.

thats how we make in our household

    1) heat up milk till it just starts to bubble
    2) turn off heat and let it cool down to 45-50 C
    3) add a few spoons of yoghurt (room temp) to milk and mix it well
    4) cover pot with lid and wrap in towel so it retains heat. leave it in a place where it wont be distrubed for 12 hours
    5) put it in fridge for another 12 hours after that

any water separated fom yougurt can be poured out or just mix it for creamy texture.

if you have no issue with dairy, yougurt with live cultures is really good for gut health.

I have been using this hack below and it works a charm. When I do want to make really heavy set yoghurt then I add a bit of gelatin to it. Has worked for me for over a year. Not my idea but the post below.

I split the 1 kg milk powder and the easiyo sachet to make 6 packets with the easiyo maker and it has never failed me. I have done this only with the full fat plain yoghurt version not sure if the fruity ones but guess might work out the same.

Might help some out here to save costs.

  • I use one table spoon easiyo from sachet, heated milk etc as ANN
If you want thicker set, add a few spoonful milk powder.

Just use UHT milk. Same price as standard milk and removes the heating requirement.
