Hi all,

Got this info from a friend that was getting a laptop.

Seem like it is new lower price vs what I was seeing previously.

    This seems really expensive?

    • I think the processor is the main culprit here, apart from Dell themselves

The CPU for the price isn't even that good though

  • These prices…

    16GB
    512GB
    FHD
    ..atleast the 500nits is nice
    but for almost $2600 O_o

    $899.80 to upgrade to a 4050 6GB 30w…

The amount for the upgrade can get you a full PC from one of Techfast's various deals involving a 4060 8gb + extra on top for some video games.

    • Yeah. One good thing about this deal is that "Intel graphics" shouldn't scare people away because the ARC can compete with some NVidia cards. This could be a decent budget gaming PC except:
      * They don't give specs on the ARC, and they think the 4050 is worth $899 more so I doubt this is a top-of-the-range ARC GPU,
      * You can get deals on a laptop with a real 4050 for $1300 so $2600 is hardly "budget".

      • If you think Arc graphics is good you should look up all the issues it has with multiple games. Intel drivers still need a lot of work. Go ahead if you want to be their beta tester.

Look up at how bad the Intel Ultra based MSI Claw with ARC performs against the year old Asus ROG Ally with AMD Radeon graphics. ARC performance is not even close.

        • Woah, woah there boy! I never said the ARC was good, but the ARC A770M outperforms the 4050 and maybe 4060 according to Notebookcheck. If the ARC card was high end and the $1300 4050 laptop deal offered $899 off to switch to ARC I would jump at the chance to be a beta tester. Alas. that is not the case.

  • Even Dell prices are so ripoff these days … Inflation still bad!

  • Not a good friend.

  • Why does it have an expensive 16 core Intel Ultra 7 Processor 155H 🤔

    • Well in reality it only has 6 performance cores and the rest are E cores. It's not like you are buying a processor where all 16 cores are the same like a 7945HX3D.

  • This model has always been expensive from Dell and they consider it as their “Premium” Ultralight laptop that they compete with Apple on pricing (though they do a lot more discounts than the fruit brand).

Get a 14" Legion for way better specs, better screen and save about $800 on top.

    No deal here

  • This is really expensive and it's just their standard pricing (which has been going up and up). The Dell XPS 13 in the past with similar specs can be had for $1500 - $1700 and I have seen it as low as $1200. To be fair, the new Dell XPS 14 is based on the Dell XPS 13 Plus (with the touch bar) but even then they were around $2000. This is not a deal.

The best deals used to be with their outlet store. Bought 2 XPS 13s in the past for just under $1000 each, bought one of them around Christmas last year.

    • Agree. The XPS series is nice though if you can afford it or grab a good deal. I've had several 2nd hand or refurb XPS laptops and they have all been amazing. Great build quality, not as light as some others but always feels very solid/premium. On paper they really can't match the other deals though but it's one of those things where you have to really see it in person/use it and decide if that's what you want..if not, you can probably quite easily get something for half the price at times..lots to consider though like the bezels etc. They're great (minimal) on the XPS ..but their webcam quality is still crap for example..

  • With such price, better to get 16GB 512GB apple macbook air 13 m3.
Screen, cpu, gpu, battery, everything better.

  • It may be better than usual price but that doesnt mean it's worth it (for an ozBargainer)
