@gotyourback can you confirm if Amazon’s 12% bonus applies to 0% base cashback categories ?

    • +1

With Westpac the answer is yes. Unsure with St.George. It appears our usual GBY rep was let go, and the new rep has been putting out incorrect advice lately

      • That makes so much sense, I sent GYB a query last week and the email back sounded like it came directly from SB customer support (i.e. completely not helpful). Did shake my faith in the process.

        • Those responses in the other thread are EXACTLY the kind of copy/pasted, templated BS responses we've come to expect from Shopback's inept customer service reps when we need to raise a claim. And this new rep obviously has NFI what they're talking about.

My advice is to carry on as usual because this new rep is clueless.

Hey There! Heads up about 0% Cashback categories and bonuses: they don't play well together!

Here's the deal: If something falls under a 0% Cashback category, it won't be eligible for either regular ShopBack Cashback or the St.George Bonus.

Basically, bonuses only apply if you meet the specific offer requirements for the store you're shopping at. And those offers might have their own fine print (like terms and conditions) to consider.

      • Thanks for the reply.

        @gotyourback what about westpac deals?

See below post from previous rep:

        • I remember vaguely the other GYB mentioned that but couldn’t find the comment, thanks @Repstar!
This needs clarification please @gotyourback as this new tracking may affect St. George deals as well. Please confirm and double confirm with your team before replying us with misinformation. TIA mate 🙏

@noelhoi: Hey there! Just like with regular ShopBack Cashback, 0% Cashback categories don't qualify for Westpac Bonuses either.

These are the latest updates to our T&Cs (terms and conditions), so be sure to check them out if you wanna know all the ins and outs of earning that sweet Cashback.

@gotyourback: @gotyourback that’s a pretty big change to announce to the OZB community. Can you please provide the exact date this changed?

Many of us have bought from 0% categories on eBay/Amazon where it previously was allowed for bonus Westpac cashback. Will these cashbacks be honoured?

              • -1

@Repstar: @Repstar let me re-check and double confirm with the team again and get back to you on this

                • +1

@gotyourback: Shouldn't you be double checking or triple checking before you post on here?

                • @gotyourback: bump. still waiting for update please

                  • @Repstar: Gotyourback doesn't have your back :P

                  • @Repstar: @Repstar I'm still chasing an update on your case from the team. They haven't gotten back to me yet, but I'll nudge them again and let you know as soon as I hear anything.

                    • @gotyourback: @gotyourback bump!

                    • @gotyourback: @gotyourback still waiting on a reply for this please:

                      1) will westpac 0% categories on amazon/ebay track for bank bonus: yes or no?

                      2) will st.george/bom/bsa 0% categories on amazon/ebay track for bank bonus: yes or no?

please refer to comment from previous GYB rep: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833502#comment-15009617

                      • @Repstar: Hey there! Thanks for your patience. I finally heard back from the team about the Westpac and Bank Bonuses for the 0% category.

Here's the deal: you'll only get those bonuses for the 0% category ONLY if the parent cashback is tracked as $0 too and upon validation, it got approved. Meaning the Parent Cashback turned available upon validation the bonus will be credited to your account

Let me know if you have any other questions!

              • @Repstar: I purchased $78 from Amazon today, $70 via GC and $8 via StG as a test. We’ll see how we go, worst case I won’t get the extra 12%.

                • @noelhoi: I’ve done the same. Multiple times over the last month, it’s all tracked. 0% category as well (Toys). Cheers

                  • @Repstar: Forgot to mention my order was 2x items in one txn, and its Beauty so 0%. Suppose that was clear that’s what i was testing but just making it clearer 😉

                    • @noelhoi: So even though beauty was 0%, it still tracked at St George's bonus cashback rate of 12%?

                • @noelhoi: Base cashback tracked, StG also tracked the next day. Praying for successful payout.

            • @gotyourback: "sweet cashback" ?

Seems like a new tone of voice is in place since the ShopBack layoffs?

  • still waiting for a LG cashback bonus to rival the cashrewards one few weeks ago

BEWARE of using St George Card check the last two Pizza Hut deals in which people were complaining that they are not getting the George cashback tracked. I have sent in many emails as I did not get my $10 they seem to now ignore the issue. Some posts claim that they let go of efficient staff

    • +1

sounds like a business run like a bank…hold up it is.

  • There are quite a few issues with St George Cashback. My Amazon order cashback got tracked but showed 'calculating' for over 1 week. I don't understand what makes it so hard to calculate??

    • It will stay like that till it is approved/declined.

      • Better check it, I had an Amazon order only track half the items in the total order (all same category) - shopback were not helpful at all and told me tough cookies.

        • +1

Yes, I placed an order for 5 items but only 2 items are tracked. So I am not sure how it works and why 3 out of 5 are not tracked.

  • +4

These rates are good but not going to bother as the bonus doesn't seem to get picked up, only the regular cashback. Now there's no one helpful as a rep on OzB and if you email you just get ignored or a copy paste response.. really a shame how far they've fallen.

  • How to get bounce CB for St George? Do I just pay with St George card? Need to click or activate on anything?

  • I did 2 chemist warehouse bonus SgB back on 4th April and still showing as calculating so I don’t know if bonus cash back applied. Watch your orders.

  • +2

I've had about 6 purchases with St George cards and not had any issues as yet, have all tracked ok but none have been confirmed yet.

18% promo cashback on Petbarn 10am-4pm.

    • Thanks - placed an order from Petbarn. Both standard and StG bonus tracked at the same time 20 minutes later.

  • @gotyourback has there been changed to the caps too? Previously, if it’s not mentioned capped per user, we’d assume it’s per transaction. I’m interested in placing another order at Perbarn.

    • Hey there! Nope there has been no changes on the Cashback Offer from Petbarn. It is at 18% and capped at $20 per transaction

      • Thanks 🙏

  • Anyone else purchase from a 0% category on Amazon with the 12% bonus St George CB tracked? Just asking for future St George deals

    • +1

      Can confirm it works
