Just a heads up on the Amazon cashback, the Westpac component is only eligible if the base Amazon cashback category > 0%

    • -6

Its a gray area. I made a ebay purchace @ 0% cashback a few months ago and still got Westpac bonus CB paid so YMMV.

For Amazon it isn't, it won't be paid. I have also had success with ebay

      • No. Ebay does (or at least did) and Amazon doesn't

      • not for amazon

No it isn’t. It has been reported by many users that they did not receive the bonus during a Westpac upsize

Unless @gotyourback can reconfirm this, the previous comment is still applicable

Hey mate, I've checked in on this, this has actually been updated by our Westpac team so that Cashback for 0% Categories on eBay and Amazon will track and be paid out! Some users will remember me saying previously that this is something we were working on changing and can confirm that after some testing we can pay out Cashback on 0% categories for eBay and Amazon!

Note that this is specific to eBay and Amazon as they will track 0% categories whereas other merchants will not track them, and that if the original tracking is rejected the Bonus will be rejected as well. If you have trouble with this, let me know as this is still pretty new so I'd like to keep eyes on it.

          • @gotyourback: Thanks for confirming this GYB, I’ve bookmarked this comment so that I’m able to link it to future comments if people query it

            Cheers!

If original category cashback is 0%, I think you don't get an additional 10% from Westpac

The only categories that are not 0% are:

    • Amazon Devices (Includes Echo, Fire TV & Tablet, Ring Smart Security, Eero Mesh Wi-Fi) 7%
    • Furniture 4.9%
    • Home (Includes Bed Bath, Decor, Storage & Organisation, Heaters, Fans, Vacuum Cleaners, Mattresses) 4.9%
    • Kitchen & Dining 4.9%
    • Personal Care Appliances ( Including Electronic Personal Care) 4.2%
    • Home Improvement ( Includes Kitchen & Bath, Electrical, Smart Lights, Fans, Hardware) 4.2%
    • Office Products 2.8%
    • Home Entertaiment (Includes TVs, Projectors, Sound Bars, Home Theatre Systems, Amplifiers) 2.1%
    • Physical Books 1.4%

Pretty useless then for many people

  • When are we getting westpac bonus with booking.com or Expedia again?

    • expedia should already be having 10% discount with generic mastercard link ??

      • That’s not a 14.5% + 8% though!

      • What's this mastercard discount?

          Currently offering:-

Enter coupon code to enjoy 8% off selected hotel bookings!
Booking period: till 31 Jan 2025 | Travel period: till 30 Jun 2025
          Redeem coupon code MASTERAU8 now

Always make sure to compare prices.

    • Expedia 12% cashback today + 2% Westpac bonus cashback

      • Interesting, the westpac bonus specifies you need to use the "pay now" option. I don't see that mentioned on the 12% page though. Price matching also not eligible which sucks.

  • What happens if I purchase an Amazon item that's 'Temporarily out of stock'. but still allows purchases. It mentions that you get charged only once item ships…would this still get cashback?

    • seeing you pay when they ship, unless it ships soon, you won't get bonus cashback

  • To be eligible for the Westpac cashback, can you not use Amazon gift cards to pay?

    • +1

You have to be using your Westpac card to pay for it.

    • +2

Can use GC, just part of the payment must be on Westpac. If your gift card or wallet balance is already over the item cost, place an order to cancel later to deduct from this balance.

CW max per order or per account?

For Chemist Warehouse, will this work through the desktop? I can only see the bonus Westpac cashback through the app. Thanks.

    • Hey mate, desktop is all good to redeem so long as an eligible linked card is used to purchase.

      • but cant see bonus cashback on desktop. Will it be denied?

        • It will not be denied mate, it's still fully available to be redeemed using any device you wish.

          • @gotyourback: Hi there, I have sent you a DM about some missing cashbacks. Are you able to look into these for me please?

  • +1

I hate that they removed the Westpac Lounge from the website (app only) - @gotyourback, is there any reason why? Update on when it will be back?

    • +1

Same question from me, I just noticed that Westpac lounge is no longer linked to my Westpac card on the website and there is no way to link it. If they are removing the functionality that was there previously, that would be annoying.

      • Hey mates, sorry for the confusion here, we were noticing that we were getting suuuuuper limited use of the lounge on our site (we're talking like less than 10 clicks in a day), so we've transitioned so that they're advertised primarily in our app. You can still shop using our website/extension and redeem the Bonus, it's just not advertised as heavily there. @Buyer0fBargains @mickeyk

        • +2

Thank you for an explanation. Without advertised deals on the website, I would not be comfortable using the website as there would be no certainty that the deal is actually on. Also, I no longer have any proof that my card is linked in case of disputes. I hope you will restore this functionality at some time since I don't plan on using an app.

          • @mickeyk: Hey mate, appreciate the feedback. Note that you can still the linked card under "Manage Payment Methods" on our website, and know that for big events (such as Afterpay Day, Black Friday, etc) we will have offers advertised on our website, just will avoid rebuilding the page every week given so few users were benefiting. Cheers for your understanding, let me know if you have any other q's.

            • +2

@gotyourback: 10 clicks per day, yes that makes sense as you only offer something good on Wednesdays. But it’s a shame you’ve excluded website use, as it’s an accessibility issue for those of us who struggle to use smaller devices (I guess it can join gift cards in being inaccessible and no longer useable).

              • @Buyer0fBargains: All the best offers will be visible here on OzBargain, and still redeemable on desktop. As I've mentioned, I've passed on the feedback here and will still feature these on our website just less frequently given how few people were making use of the page.

Unless I can SEE any Westpac bonus shown on the website then there's no bonus in my book…..can you point to where today's bonuses are listed on the website and how one can access those bonuses FROM the website…..I've looked today and stuffed if I can find anything for a Westpac deal……
I've zero interest in using any damn app for anything, I'm old and set in my ways ;)

Is Subscribe & Save eligible for the bonus cashback?

    • +1

Would also like to know @gotyourback

    • Yes me too, I'd love to know @gotyourback if Subscribe & Save is eligible for the bonus cashback?

      • +1

Hey mates, for future reference; initial Subscribe and Save purchases are eligible, but subsequent purchases as part of the subscription will not earn Cashback, you'll only earn Cashback on the first transaction.
