HP ProBook 445 14" G10 Laptop - R5 5730U 8GB 256GB $809.93 Delivered + Surcharge @ Zotim

52

An earlier posted HP Elitebook deal got merged to insufficient thread.

Here's another one, a Probook. Another great workhorse that's been well tested in the corporate world. Pop in a ram for $50 from Amazon and it will be a sweet performer.

Surcharge: 1.5% Card, 2.75% PayPal.

To-date, I am yet to figure out the difference between an Elitebook and the Probook.

    Display 35.6 cm (14") diagonal, HD (1366 x 768), narrow bezel, anti-glare, 250 nits, 45% NTSC

This should be illegal in 2024.

100% agree - it should have been illegal for at least half a decade by now.

1080p should be the absolute minimum for any laptop. The wholesale price difference is a couple of bucks between a HD and an FHD panel in this size and it's a massive usability gap between the two.

Given they are bits you actually use never cheap out on the display or keyboard & mouse / trackpad as nothing will impact your use of the machine more.

As someone who buys HP machines (like 100 at a time) for work - usually the ProBook/Elitebooks… The fact that the HD Monitor is standard on these and they want a couple hundred bucks more to get the FHD displays irks me so much :|

      • Yea. Crazy that they still offer a shtty display.

      • as someone who repairs pc / phones and laptops

the difference for a display at the repair level is like $70 vs $85 for 720p vs 1080p..

        ouch…

This 14” Dell laptop is probably a better deal. 1080p screen, 16GB ram, and 3 year onsite warranty for $859.

    • Intel?

      • Yes, what's wrong with Intel 12 Gen processor?

        • In these two specific examples, app 30%.

          • @[Deactivated]: To be precise, CPU Benchmarks indicate the CPU mark rating is 17.5% in AMD's favor, but Intel has a slight edge in single thread performance.

I'd say the difference is not large enough to heavily favor one over the other.

            • @anonym: Yea. Screen is a deal breaker. Guess many dock their laptop and it is a 13" making it more bearable.

Intel has slacked off for many years. Good that AMD is putting presure on Intel.
