    • chpeast i got mine was ~$170 with black rubber

Sorry I should have been more specific it was the jubilee pepsi

    • $240 for a Steeldive is getting up there. Cronos do the best homage of those ones, not sure how much but probably not heaps more.

  • Do steel dive watch bracelets fit on their seiko “homage” counterparts? Thinking about getting one just for the bracelet.

    • Just putting it out there, the bracelet is considered the weakness.

      Not me though, I think for $100 even it’s a 10/10 buy

      • +1

Oh don’t get me wrong I’m not expecting much for $70 odd, but if its still halfway decent I’d still like to get one if they fit out of the box.

The bracelets are pretty good - sold end links and they have revised the clasps to milled and 6 holes of micro adjust.
I find them comfy (but have an older one with an upgraded clasp, sits better than the longer ones).

Can't go wrong for $80-100, bargain! It's one of the few watches I've sold and bought again. Paid $85 for the rubber version last time. They must have changed the case design at some point, my old bracelet end links don't work. They sending some new ones out apparently.

Yeah the bracelet kinda sucks. If you're hairy like me, you may as well wax you wrist before using the watch.

Anyone know if there is an Aliexpress version of The Classic GL831 Rubber Diver Strap?

$62 for a rubber strap is too expensive for my tight arse. Maybe I'll just go with this for US$2.15 + GST + $1.99 del.

  • I have both of these watches and do not regret anything about them!

  • Just for those who are not familiar, this is a big and heavy boy, decent watch but if you would like to wear something a bit lighter on the wrist, look for something else or get it with the rubber band.

    • Agree not light but it's fine, just don't wear it loose. Not much heavier than the real thing (10-15g). Perhaps some people haven't worn a quality diver. It is nice on rubber though to change the look and cut the weight down. Still worth getting!

It's not too bad but I have a good selection of different types of watches including this particular watch and once you wear something lighter and go back to it, it doesn't feel nice on the wrist so I hardly wear it.

I have a 6.5inch wrist so it's not big nor small and I've started liking smaller watches, bought the 36mm Titinium Berny and the new 37mm BB54 San Martin and they wear great.

So, basically people needs to assess what they like and their wrist size before jumping on this just because it's cheap.

        Once again, really nice watch.

        • Yeah same sized wrist as you I think.
It's got the nice lug-lug. The real ones are nicer and bit thinner, and not as heavy 😏.

Agree, plenty of other choices but you won't do any better for $80 and can sell used for $10 less. Not many people are disappointed overall IMO. Not everyone wants a fake (homage) submariner case (but those 40mm wear very well tool.

          • @G-rig: Yeh 100% you can't go wrong at all. I have mine on a rubber strap

I just can't get over how good this San Martin looks.

Just reference for those who might be interested.

            • @itsmoe: Nice work. My SD1970 is on a black tropic from Ali as well actually (the mongrels changed the lug holes so couldn't put my old bracelet on, but sending some new end links apparently (maybe).

That's not a bad BB58 homage SM do some good stuff but have to watch how much you spend on these Ali brands..

              • @G-rig: Yeh that's gonna be my last one, got it during a sale for around $300 which is great for the quality.

I'm saving up for a proper Tudor but also getting engaged soon so good luck to me and my bank account.lol

                Enjoy your watches bro.

                • +1

@itsmoe: Ha congrats. It's a great way to trial a watch before you buy the real thing. Sometimes I think one expensive one would be better than 10-20 others, hard to know. Nice and not overly expensive, better purchase than an oris or tag. Wear it in good health!

Prices updated as they dropped even more. Buy now think later.
