    Not Aussie made?

      • +1

So if those ones are made in Aus, where are the ones listed on the deal made from?

    • +1

https://uggaustralia.com.au/ I think is the original, they haven't posted here in a while

      • +2

They aren't completely Aussie made either. Soles are from overseas.

        • +4

But the sheep skin is tanned here and the product is assembled here.
If they sold at colesworths the label would say "made in Australia from at least 80% Australian ingredients". 😄

  • Hi OP, Do codes stack and if so, could you do a deal on these kids pairs? https://uggoriginals.com.au/collections/all/products/kids-cl…

what happened to the $30 scuffs?

    • +1

Yeah , that's what I have been looking for.

  • Are they genuine?

Some company in USA tried to trademark the Ugg name, which was a style of boot that originated in Australia, not a brand. The American lost. Ugg remains a style of boot. Ugg Originals is the name of the company, not a claim about the product. It does not mean they are original Ugg manufacturers.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugg_boots#History

I have a pair of genuine Ugg boots made by a different company, which does not mean these are not genuine. These (sheepskin boots) may be genuine style Ugg boots, but that's all they can claim. You can get genuine Ugg boots made by a lot of companies. What you need to look for is quality of manufacture. Avoid the cheap ones, which may be lined with synthetic.

My first pair were made from untanned sheepskin and had a skin sole. They were very warm and comfy but the skin sole didn't survive the occasional trip outside.

The American (Deckers) actually won their case in local courts (twice), and despite the bleeding obvious, hold trademark rights over the name UGG in the USA. Part of Deckers argument was a survey of - you guessed it - Americans, 98% of whom weren't aware that ugg boots was a generic term for a style of footwear. Gobsmacking ignorance by the judges. Years ago Deckers did use the misleading name UGG Australia but after being challenged by an Australian maker dropped that label.

I've bought ugg boots from the "original" Vic company, a Sydney company who makes the boots locally (dunno about the soles, likely imported), and another Sydney Au-owned company who imports their boots. The "original" quality was rubbish - slippery soles, splits along the sown seams within a few months, and no customer service other than 'we're busy'. The others were both great quality. Ymmv

        • USA is the center of the universe!

As said above, mine came from elsewhere and looked closely before buying. A bargain is not a bargain if the quality of the product is rubbish.

Do you guys ever make sizes for Men?
Seems like it stops at 12.

I got men's size 12 from here before, the Chinese ones usually stop at women's 12.

      • The imputation is that authentic mens' sizes start at 13.

        • Not really I was size 13 at about 12 years old. Bigger than that lol. Obviously some people didn't like the joke. But it would be nice for companies cater to bigger feet.

  • Ugg Originals? So these are the original Uggs? Or is the title a misleading one.

      See my response above.

These are possibly China-made or partly so, even when they say "Australia Made" it could be the end-assembly part made here in some factory.

These guys here are the only ones still making Ugg in Australia: https://uggaustralia.com.au/
I've spoken to the worker and even the Tannery is done in Laverton, Victoria.
I think the soles (being rubber) would be from overseas, but the core component is the Wool/Leather

Support local guys - we're sick of foreign interference.

  • These guys here are the only ones still making Ugg in Australia

That depends on how you interpret "made". There are plenty of ugg boots made in this country by Australian businesses and workers - ironically often using Australian sheepskins processed overseas. While many Ozbargainers are happy with the linked company and their products, my one experience resulted in a poor product and even worse customer service. I will never buy from them again.

  • Thumbs up another product to complete the bogan wardrobe

I believe these guys are the original OG authentic Ugg boots.

  • original doesn’t mean the best, think quality needs to be looked at on specific seller quality. the ugg boots i have are made by australian shepherd, probably different to to these but i now have 3 different brands of ugg boots at home, the ones i have are non slip sole, but inner is made from woven wool bonded to suede, the inner sole packs down a bit over time, but but least i get a TPR non slip outer sole. Also some brands are suede on the outside, but are actually suede with wool bonded to the outer, you can check this by grabbing the inside and out side and with a tug they separate. I guess for me if it’s wool, non slip sole then i’m set again for a winter working from home, and inner soles are available on ebay for $10 but i get a good year of wear. extra inner soles are $19 on this deal.
will order a pair as winter work from home approaches, caution on returns, you pay return postage, have a pair from last season from a seller that doesn’t fit so guess present for family member, be better if it was ebay shopfront for returns or warranty.

other brand i have is auzland, also tpr sole, seem to last better than australian shepherd ones.
