MFI Certificated Item Tracker Tags
What is the Brand name so we can verify?
I'm interested, but need verification as well
what happened to trust in this world ?
Just relax - if it says they are certificated, they are obviously certificated!
Ok, thanks…
Is there an Android app that works with them?
I would expect these types of trackers to become cheaper now that google is launching its Find My Device network, which should connect to apple's
https://www.techradar.com/phones/android/android-find-my-dev…Does the article actually say they are joining forces? The only thing I could find was that they were sharing their info on unwanted tags?
good point, misread this part. They are only working together on the unwanted tracker alerts.
Unusually, Google and Apple have been jointly working on these cross-platform unwanted tracker alerts, so they can be sent across Android and iOS platforms.
It's not about using each other's devices to find stuff
They are only working together on the unwanted tracker alerts.
I have been getting AirTag tracker alerts on my Pixel 5 for the last year or more, it's not new.
@bio: Yes that's correct. Going the other way (Google tags being detected by iPhones) is what's new.
Send me a sample, I will issue the MFI (Myself Fuc*ing Inspected) certificate.
I'd be skeptical that it is MFI. What I found in the past is they sometimes use a counterfeit MFI chip, which works fine. Until a IOS update is sent through to your phone and blacklists the MFI chip and you suddenly get the popup saying "accessory not supported"
yup, I saw these in heaps of cheap lightning cables from amazon/kmart. they work for a bit then eventually nothing. I have very little faith in these 3rd party "MFI certified devices".
I "love" how the big companies claim to be 'green' yet do deliberate moves they know will create ewaste out of working products.
Wonder if I'll need to buy other tags to track these tags in my bags
