Can Hello Fresh gift cards be used for delivery fees?

    • +1

The gift card covers the food and delivery.

      • +1

        That’s great, thanks!
Got $400+ in credit atm, so not like I need to save 10% on the delivery fees aha

        • Looks like you can only apply 1 gift card at a time. I'm assuming that you redeem another gift card once the credit from the first gift card runs out.

  • +1

can I use amazon giftcards to purchase restaurant giftcards

    • +2

      No
It failed when last 7% promotion

  • +2

Good timing to stack with Amex spend $60 get $10 deal that is about to expire in 2 days.

    • Which one is that?

    • can it be stacked woth amex 60-10?

      • +1

Just looked at the Terms of the Amex deal and it doesn't exclude gift card purchases. Even if there was a clause, I wouldn't worry much as there is no way Amex would know what has been purchased unless its paid for Prime membership I guess

        • I bought Apple gc one and it worked. About to buy something else now before expired.

  • +2

I can't decide whether to get restaurant choice at 8%. Usually 10% minimum is what I aim for.

    • +3

      15 or nothing

      • When was the last time you bought restaurant choice?

    • 20x points equals 9% off from wws and Coles; only 1% difference

      • +1

how does it equal 9%, $100 card with $10 worth of points = 10% no?

        • +2

Have to spend the points though, so it comes to just under 10%. 100/110 = ~9.1% off for a $100 card.

          • +1

            @MiscOzB: buy with 2-3% off ShopBack Supermarket Card, so if 2.5%, then 97.5/110 = 11.4% off :)

            • @tonester: Bingo!

            • @tonester: Can you please help out a newb % bargainer and outline the steps here? I need to learn from a master

    • can the restaurant choice be used on menulog/uber eats/doordash ?

    • When was the last time you see it on 10% or more? This year GC % are down down except for the food delivery department.

  • Thanks, used up my coles gift cards from the other month

  • +5

    10% off Uber/Eats

    20% off last time 😏

    • For a very short time

  • Has anyone successfully used the City Beach gift card with promo codes? I don't want to find out the hard way that it's not accepted.

  • Never seen these before, how do they work?

Restaurant and Cafe Choice eGift Cards

Sounds like it would be for anything contactless…. nothing about cafe/restaurants

Add your Café Choice gift card to your Apple, Google or Samsung mobile wallet and purchase your favourite item at terminals that accept contactless payments

    • The card is locked to specific merchants coded into their eftpos terminals

Merchants around Australia categorised as Hotels, Caterers (MCC 5811), Eating Places and Restaurants (MCC 5812), Drinking Places (MCC 5813), Fast Food Restaurants (MCC 5814), Motels & Resorts, Central Merchant (MCC 7011) and Amusement Parks, Circuses, Carnivals, and Fortune Tellers (MCC 7996). Gift card subject to individual merchant acceptance

  • What happen to the few dollars left in the card? Can I use 2 different card in Uber Eats/ Doordash?

    • Yes you can split payments

  • -3

Don't forget stack your 2-5% cashback for Amazon gift cards

    • +2

I don't thin they can be used to purchase gift cards any more

    • i got 1,75% on shopback for amazon GC but got 3% on bupa.
but can we use amazon GC for this deal ?
      never try one.

      • +1

No, Amazon credit was blocked from being a payment method for gift cards a few months back.

  • +3

Hellofresh gift cards can't be used with their offer codes. They consider the gift card an offer.

    • It stacked with an ongoing 10% discount for me.

      • How did you get an ongoing 10% discount?

        • Private health insurance perk

          • @rickb: Which PHI provider?

              • @rickb: Wow, thanks for that. We spend enough on Hellofresh ($7500 a year!) so it might be worth churning to HCF just for the discount.

    • Thanks for pointing this out.

My gift card is still processing so hopefully I can cancel.

Was hoping to gift card would stack with the 40% box promo I have.

      • +1

That's exactly what I tried to do. It doesn't. I spoke to their support twice to try to explain a gift card is just like currency or a credit card, not a discount code. It's only discounted because you pre-purchase it. I'd bought my $100 gift card about a year before I finally got to use it. They wouldn't budge.

  • Still works have credit in my account confirmed

  • How do the restaurant and cafe ones work?

    • It says 25000 restaurants is it likely to work at my local cafe/restaurant

    • It is dependent on the restaurant/Cafe eftpos terminal.

Merchants around Australia categorised as Hotels, Caterers (MCC 5811), Eating Places and Restaurants (MCC 5812), Drinking Places (MCC 5813), Fast Food Restaurants (MCC 5814), Motels & Resorts, Central Merchant (MCC 7011) and Amusement Parks, Circuses, Carnivals, and Fortune Tellers (MCC 7996). Gift card subject to individual merchant acceptance

      • So if it comes up on my bank transaction as a restaurant or cafe purchase it'll likely be fine then I'm guessing, thanks

  • Email said 1-2 hours to receive gift card. 2 hours and still nothing

    • Which one? I bought UE and received pretty much straight away.

      • Restaurant

        • Amazon have cancelled 2 different orders without a reason. Bastards.

          • @unity1: :(

have you perhaps been adding new cards to your account? there can sometimes be a delay of up to 24hrs to process payment with a newly added card, due to Amazon apparently authorising/verifying it with the issuer "manually", possibly on a random basis - it's happened to me twice

my restaurant choice card was received within minutes

            • @tonester: Well they did send an email saying that they believe an unauthorised party may have accessed my account. I reset my password and did everything it said in the email.

After resetting everything I placed the same order again and that got cancelled without a reason too, so let’s see what happens.

  • Can you use these Restaurant and Café Choice eGift Cards at big hotel brands like Marriott and IHG?

    • Yes as they include the Hotels MCC 7011 so should theoretically work at any hotel. People have used it to pay for accommodation before, but must be paid directly in-person or over the phone. It won't work on booking sites like Booking.com etc.

Run out of Uber e gift cards ? Normal price

  • Restaurant is also normal price and not discounted. I assume it’s also OOS or am I doing something wrong?

    • same, I found doordash still has discount

let's wait and see if Restaurant Gift Card will get more stock or not

      • I actually talked to Amazon customer service to see why the discount wasn’t getting added and they just added $8 to my account.
        So that’s nice of them.

EDIT: $8 promotional credit, not credit on the account.
        Same thing for this though.

        • nice :)

  • +1

Why restaurant card is showing normal price? (100) other than $92 at check out?

    • +1

My guess is it’s already out of stock

  • Uber eats still normal price

    • The discount applies at checkout before confirming payment

  • +1

Just got uber eats $100 for $90 so 10% off, not OOS

  • I added Coles GC to my account with Amazon GC.
Your gift card balance can’t be applied to orders that contain other Amazon.com.au gift cards.

Now only have $50 on my Coles GC, rest in Amazon.

  • Stupid question, if I've got Uber One through the CommBank promotion, can I use a split payment of the gift card and the CommBank card to use the Uber One benefits?

    • +2

You can pay for the whole order using gift cards and still get the Uber One benefits. Just select the Commbank card as the payment method then make sure the toggle is on for gift cards

      • Thanks so much!
