Targeted not on my amex plat edge

  • I got other offers but not this. Oh well, maybe next time🤞

    • +3

Looks like there is an EG fuels: Spend 60 get 20 back, 3 times.

Had to do a double take when I saw it.

      • +5

Sure it's not spend $60 3 times & get $20 back (once)? Discussed here.

        • +1

It is definitely spend $60, three times, to get $20 back once, but it's worded poorly & I can see the confusion.

          • +1

@sinners007: They should have just said, spend $180 in total during promotional peroid to get $20 back.

            • @darkeagle: It'll be too hard to spend $180 on fuel in one go for most people.

          • @sinners007: They are always terrible with these things

  • I got nothing

  • +2

    Not on Qantas Ultimate.

  • Didn't get it on my explorer.

  • +1

Got it. Guess I can try purchase a physical gift card to be eligible for the credit? Since it says no digital purchases allowed, aka egifts allowed.

    • +1

I'm thinking, without any certainty, digital gift cards will be allowed

Reading through those comments, the results are varied. Some claim digital gift cards worked for cashback, others claim they did not.

One person said that a rep from Amex chat advised eGift Cards fall under the digital purchase category & won't trigger the credit offer but physical gift cards should be ok.

          YMMV it seems.

          • +1

@sinners007: The offer expires April and I just bought one this morning, so will see if it gets any trigger. Otherwise, I will just buy the physical gift card later on.

          • @sinners007: Agreed. Also the previous deal made no mention about excluding digital purchases. This one does.

            • +1

              @aka nioh:

Also the previous deal made no mention about excluding digital purchases.

              these did

          • @sinners007:

One person said that a rep from Amex chat advised eGift Cards fall under the digital purchase category & won't trigger the credit offer but physical gift cards should be ok.

would one expect a rep to say otherwise when they're not likely to know how the offer actually works?

            • @tonester: I was just reporting the "news". Many people here have had success with eGift Cards. Anyone worried can get a physical gift card delivered the next day. Easy.

    • That's how I interpreted but if any brave souls would like to test e-gift cards we welcome your sacrifice

  • +1

Got it on Velocity Escape but not QF Discovery.

  • Not on my QF Ultimate unfortunately

  • Wife got it on QF ultimate. Didn't get it on my gold.

  • Got it on my QF Discovery

  • Got it thanks OP

  • Got it on gold charge card

  • Got it on the free Qantas Amex. Thanks OP!

  • Though I never used Amex for Amazon transactions but Amex was added as one of the payment methods. So I was not targeted.

    • Not true. I got Amex as one of my payment methods (to pay the annual fee) along with gift card balance. I have the offer on my card - its a QF ultimate

  • Not on my Gold…

  • Nothing for me on my Gold. Then again with the amount I spend on my card with Amex, I don't think I'm the target audience!

  • Not on my essentials card but was on my cashback card. Woohoo!

    • That's interesting because I got it on my essential card.

      • Yes, I got it on my Essentials card too.

        Thanks @CrazyBargainer !

    • Got it on Essentials card

  • +4

Just be careful with Amazon transactions. I have had issues where I purchased multiple items and each one got split into a separate transaction so it did not qualify. My advice is to by one item worth $60 or multiples of the same item to reach $60

I even made sure it was sold by Amazon and they would still split the transaction. Especially if they ship on different days

    • +4

But it says in one or more transactions…so as long as you hit $60 in multiple transactions you can get the $10 credit each time

    • +1

Just buy gift cards the. You can pay buy gift card balance

  • Guessing Amex is not allowing $180 in 1 go to get $30 cash back? "spend $60 or more, in one or more transactions" but further down the T&Cs "Offer is limited to a maximum of $30 credit per Card and $10 credit per eligible transaction."

    • Yes

    • +1

You used to be able to do it all in one hit.

  • This in an AMEX deal not AMAZON

    • Thanks. Updated the title. Hope it is more clear now :)

  • +2

Not on Plat edge or Explorer

  • Thanks op. Got it on primary platinum edge and Qantas discovery

  • Not on my platinum either

  • Wonder if gift cards apply or are excluded?

  • +17

Just purchased a $60 E gift card and received the email from Amex to say thank you for using your Amazon Amex offer.

Offer was on my $0 annual fee velocity escape card.

    • +1

      Absolute champion. Thank you.

    • Can confirm same thing for Qantas Discovery card.

    • +1

can confirm I bought $60 gift card three times. all successful

      • Did the email from Amex actually say it's successful or just pending saying "if your transaction meets the offer terms, your redemption should appear on your statement within 15 business days)

Also checking what gift card you bought? Was it an Amazon eGift card?

  • Got it on Gold and Essential but not velocity.

  • Has anyone tried paying for Amazon prime annual subscription and receive the $10 credit?

    • -2

You can pay prime with GC so better to buy a GC for $60 x2, apply it to your account and then set Prime to deduct from GC.

      • is this something new? 9 months ago I asked the customer service about it but was told I cannot pay my prime subscription using egiftcard balance despite i have loaded over $100 worth of egiftcard credit

      • i just chat with their customer service again and they confirmed i cannot use my GC credit to pay for subscription fees.

      • @bdl Not true. Cant use gc to pay Prime membership

      • I didn't think you could use GC however when I checked my Prime details this morning this was showing:

        https://imgur.com/a/Bufdf8O

I guess I'll find out in October.

PS: Strangely when I click that "Edit payment method" button it only shows the credit cards saved to my account and "zip pay" as options - see https://imgur.com/a/UpoJNvI

        • +1

oh that's interesting I might activate the 30 days free offer and see if i can set it like you yours. otherwise i'll just grab some gift cards for now.

          • @wiltonson: Definitely grab the Amex gift cards now, worth it for the ~15% discount

    • OFFER TERMS
Excludes payments for Amazon Prime Australia membership and all Amazon Australia subscriptions (including, but not limited to, Amazon Music Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited and Audible).

On another note, can't see any mention of purchases of gift cards being excluded.

      • true but some claimed success when they purchased egift card, even with the below criteria
        * Excludes Amazon Australia digital purchases (including, but not limited to, eBooks and Apps).

        • +1

Amazon digital purchases aren't gc's though - they are things that Amazon has tight margins on/different commission systems, such as Amazon App store, ebooks, movies, etc

Can confirm it worked for 3x $60 gc's for me (when I decided to use the correct amex card :) )

If you don't trust the digital egift cards just purchase the physical ones instead.

          • @bdl: not disputing egiftcard won't work since a few people already confirmed to be working.

          • @bdl: Did you buy the eGift-cards? Cheers

            • +1

@EarlyBird: Yes, got three $60 ones and rebate confirmed by Amex email on Qantas Discovery card.

  • I saw an option to spend 200 and get 5$ credit too, so I might just grab 3x$200 worth. That will work right?

We easily spend that much every 3 to 6 months, that's a 45 dollar saving then…

Hope it doesn't mess up the ten dollars with amex

    • Ok I can confirm the 5 dollars worked fine instantly.

    • I'm keen to know if 1x200 will activate 10x3 from Amex too

It says max 10 per transaction but that doesn't always mean it happens in practice

      • -1

Oh no it almost def won't. It'll activate one transaction that is eligible for ten dollar discount.

However, I'm ok with 600 dollars of credit, for $555 of outlay.

We'll use it before the end if the year for sure.

      • +1

I've bought 1x200 transaction to take advantage of the Amazon $5 offer and can confirm that the offer is marked as redeem, so i'd expect that i'll receive a $30 credit

        • +1

If you could let me know if you get all 3 I’d really appreciate it

  • nice one OP

  • Got it on one of my main cards (charge card), nothing on supp.

  • +1

1 physical gift card and 2 eGift cards purchased. Received 3 AMEX emails.

    • +1

Just checked again, mines got triggered. Purchases e-gift card too.

  • I got my AMEX card recently and I can't see any offer on the AMEX app.
Do I need to join any AMEX offer portal to get these offers?

    • +1

You'll need to wait until after your first billing period before you can see the offers.

  • Got it on Discovery! Thanks

  • To anyone who tried the following:

    1. Purchase Amazon eGift card of at least $60 in value using Discovery. Did this twice around 7 hours ago.
    2. Only received one email saying "if your transaction meets the offer terms, your redemption should appear on your statement within 15 business days"
    3. And within the Amex app the transactions still show as pending.

But it seems some folks here are positive that they already got the credit so a bit frustrated I haven't.

    • +2

The comments are coming from people who either got the offer on their AMEX card or who got the confirmation email that says "If your transaction meets the offer terms, your redemption should appear on your statement within 15 business days". I don't see any comments suggesting the credit has been posted on their AMEX account. I know with previous AMEX deals, these credits can take days to appear. No need for frustration … yet.

      • +1

And no need to panic if you don’t receive the Amex confirmation email. Those emails are hit and miss. I and plenty of others here had experience not receiving the confirmation email but got the credit from other Amex offers in the past.

    • Just checked that after 3 days, my $10 credit showed up, this is via e-Gift card.

      • I'm at 3 days with no sign. Do I whine too someone next week if no sign?

  • +1

Got it on both primary charge and edge cards. Will try the gift card and report back! Thanks OP

  • Anyone got the $10 statement credit(s) when purchasing Amazon eGift cards?

    • +1

      read above

  • I'm guessing this will work for items fulfilled by Amazon US if you buy them through the Australian website?

    • +2

Yes, otherwise buy gift cards from Amazon AU, apply to account, then place the order via Amazon AU and pay using stored credit.

      bezoslaunderingftw

  • Anyone got their ten dollars yet? I spent 3x200 dollars with Amazon at least 3 if not 4 days ago.

    No sign of it?

    • I did 1x $60 eGC on 13/02 and just saw my $10 credit was posted overnight.
