First time poster here. Just thought I’d share a little deal I found this week on Amazon.

Chuckit! Ultra Ball, Small, 2", 2 Pack, Orange/Blue

Currently half the retail price: $11.09 + Delivery ($0 with Prime/ $59 Spend) @ Amazon AU

My dog loves these balls more than his own (if he had any). They are 2 inch in diameter, so great for the smaller breeds. High bounce, made of tough rubber and fit in a small ball launcher.

Here’s more details from the website:

The Chuckit! ultra dog toy ball is the ultimate fetch Ball, designed to bounce higher, float better, last longer, and stand out from the rest. Made from natural, high-bounce rubber, The ultra ball encourages dogs to leap and jump for more stimulating games of fetch. Featuring an extra-thick rubber core, These dog fetch toys are durable for long-term use, yet lightweight and buoyant as water toys for dogs. Chuckit! Ultra balls are strong dog toys that hold up to dirt and slobber and are easy to wipe clean. The bright orange and blue design grabs dogs' Attention in the air and can be easily spotted in tall grass or on water. Available in five sizes ranging from Small to XX-Large, dogs of all sizes can enjoy fetch with the Chuckit! ultra ball. Two-packs are available in select sizes for pet parents to keep an extra ultra ball on hand. The Chuckit! ultra ball is compatible with the Chuckit! ball Launcher for dogs, enhancing fetch with slobber-free pickup and long-distance throws.

Good price - $14.09 - for a M sized two-pack as well. Think I paid about $23 last week at petbarn

I bought the 2 pack of medium recently. Unless your dog is very small, I wouldn't go smaller than medium. Even medium was smaller than I expected. The dog loves them though.

      • +1

My dog is an 8kg cavoodle and the small works perfectly (he prefers chasing that size a ball). I’d say small would work for a lot of dogs around that size.

        • Ditto, mine also loves the small ones as it fits perfectly in their mouths lol. Loves his big tennis balls too but probably gets jaw ache after a while. I'm waiting for the breathe easy chuck it balls to go on sale!

    • back up to $24

The small chuckit squeaker balls are on sale too:

    These things last forever.

    • +1

Can confirm my 35kg dogs have failed to destroy them.

      • +1

This is the only ball that my staffy takes 6 months to destroy!! Will have to stock up!!

    • +2

Last forever but we've lost about 5 of them. Still buying two more though!

    • Not when your naughty one brings them down to the creek, play and totally forget about.

      • +1

Yeah I've lost a few in the river and the ocean but that's more of a skill issue than a quality concern!

What launcher do you recommend for a medium-sized dog? Tried Nerf one but it was useless. A child could throw further than it could launch.

    • +2

Just get the manual stick launcher

      Try a woomera.

If your dog is medium size then a normal tennis size ball and launcher could work well. You can pick them up in a lot of places, including for a few dollars at Kmart. You can always swap out the tennis ball for a more durable rubber one (such as ChuckIt!)

    • You want one that is tennis ball sized, and Chuck it mediums are tennis ball sized.

Petbarn/Bargain store versions. $2-$10, often with a tennis ball. Softer, more flexible, easier on the wrist. Don't last as long before the the ball holder starts getting loose, doesn't throw as far but get the job done with less effort. Good one to try first up, dirt cheap and easy.

Chuckit original medium (tennis ball sized). A bit stiffer and requires more effort to get the best out of but can really send the ball when loaded. Harder work and the best suited to medium-long range, but good distance and longevity. They do have different versions, some are not as stuff.

I prefer long handled myself, less bending over. I use the stiffer chuckit more now but have both.

  • for some reason my dog only likes the little Kong tennis balls

    • +1

Got a 35kg golden retriever and those are the only ones he likes.
Thought it would be a choking hazard but he just walks around holding them in his front teeth like a kids dummy.

GOAT ball for dog. My dog loves his.

    • +1

      My goat loves them too.

  • +1

Medium, which is tennis ball sized, is also cheapest it's been for nearly a year.

  • +1

Good timing. Take my dog to an 'off the leash' beach almost daily but she has this nasty habit of burying the ball in the sand or hiding it amongst the rocks making it impossible to find.

Lost my last ball this way earlier this week.

  • Indestructible, lasts forever if you don't loose it :)

Don't buy from Amazon for Chuckit balls. I use to buy from local pet stores eg. petbarn ect. and the balls lasted for ever. When I joined Amazon Prime I started buying from them but the balls only lasted a month before they started split. At first I thought it was just my dog destroying them , but I noticed at my sons house he had a chuckit ball for his dog and it hasn't split also I noticed the ball seemed a brighter colour. I stopped buying from Amazon and I recently bought some balls from Petbarn instead when on sale and the balls has not split yet. I'm convinced the balls being sold through Amazon are not the same quality but fakes or made in China ect. Just get local pet stores to price match instead.

    • I think all the balls are made in China regardless of where they are sold. The reviews on the listing doesn’t suggest they are fake.

Perfect for my chi since he luvs playing football.

  • My dog doesn't play any ball or fetch games, but he loves stealing these balls, and eating the tennis balls from the park(s)… he's a very cute Samoyed.

  • Ultra ball huh? Taking these to my local dog park to catch me some pokemon.

  • Can these be used for kids? :)

  • Is it weird to buy these for myself, not the dog.

    • Only for the dogs at the park with you.

  • Thank you

Will this work with my wife next time I take her to the park?

  • Would these be a good size for cats? My cat sometimes can’t find the target or lose them half way because they are not easy to carry. Toys attached to a stick are not easy to throw. I found small stuffed animals with a bell to be the best but she typically would tear the bell off fast.

  • Medium back up to $24
    Small up to $18.50
