hey good deal but it says unavailable online

ah the design… it will (easy to) fall from the wall when 3 ports/cables are being used

    • What would be the better design without an extra cord to the mains?

      • +2

The “longer” the design comes out from the wall, the more torque is applied when cables are plugged in.

A more square block (shorter distance out from wall) means less “pulling”. If the plug is firm and you’re not being silly with cables (eg make them go down from the block, don’t make them go horizontal) it should be ok.

Or, just get a cable management block and put it below this. It’ll take the weight (reducing the torque)

        • But if that brick was more square, then the distance of the USBs from the wall would increase.

          I understand the problem tho.

@pizzaguy: or get a power extension so it will horizontal to the floor instead of vertically attached to the wall

Technically speaking it's moment, not torque.

      • +3

Grounding it would give you a third longer pin to help anchor it in the wall.

have the power plug in the middle

Got this Ugreen charger from earlier deal and very happy with the design.

    • Even more so when paired with travel adaptors in a hotel room!

      • Yeah I almost thought I will be causing fire when I see mine hanging… And furthermore, those Asian countries have weird 2 prongs .. yeah great design really very stable. Not.

  • "It has a power output of 240 V."

    Hmmm not sure about that!

lots of these deals lately. are better chatgers coming? are these chargers crap?

why isnt this blowing up in the votes
isn't this a great price for 100W Gan charger (good brand, good retailer …)

    • +1

Is Cygnett considered a good brand? I have limited experience, but from it, it's not that stellar.

It’s 100w total but not on a single port… in which case there’s many smaller and similarly priced options out there with the 65w on a single port from reputable brands eg Anker, Ugreen, etc.

At the $60-70 price range for an GaN charger of this size and form factor, I’d be expecting 100w at least when used on a single usb C PD. I personally use both a UGreen one (linked somewhere below) which was often on Amazon promo for under $70 as well as a Belkin Boost Charge (thanks to OzB deal before).

Ahchieve 100W PD charging power from a single USB-C port.

The wording of the specs is a mess, but no, it can do 100W on a single port.

        • +1

I stand corrected. I focused only on the tech specs section which never listed a 100w but in hindsight it was a non exhaustive list just aimed at highlighting how the power output is shared with multiple devices.

FYI JB-HiFi's price match policy specifically excludes clearance items from their competitors, so depending on your customer support agent they may reject the price match.

Exclusions apply for cash back offers and store credits, bonus and bundled promotions, coupon promotions, grey or direct import products not sold through an authorised Australian reseller, commercial orders, competitor advertising errors, members only or subscription prices, and competitor clearance products or products with limited or restricted quantities.

For what it's worth, I successfully price matched as well.

      • Any chance can you please upload the receipt for the purchase ? I unsuccessfully ask for the price match online with JB. Thank you

  • Seems a little bulky for GAN, no? Perhaps the pics are deceiving. Good output anyway

    • does look pretty big in size compared to the Anker Gan chargers

    • Other Anker Nano Gans are a lot lower power output

    • For 100w you want them to be bulky. Most compact ones would throttle to 65w after a minute due to thermal problems and still warm enough to fry eggs. I’m not sure how this one performs at 100w, but it’s OW so well worth the risk.

      Oos anyway lol

  • Any good in wall USB-C 60W or more chargers integrated in a powerpoint? Last time I bought one it wouldn’t charge anything Apple…

    • No most I've seen is 30W USB PD

    • +1

I use the UGreen wall brick with three USB C and one USB A which can output 100w on the USB C port and based on the (potentially less than accurate) USB C cable with a lcd display screen I have, it’s getting about 96w to my ROG Zephyrus G14.

Note that even leaving other cables plugged in to the charger (but no devices on other side) causes it to drop down to about 40w which is the shared limit.

      • even leaving other cables plugged in to the charger (but no devices on other side) causes it to drop down

Wow…. Is that same with most other desktop chargers? No wonder mine seems to output less than what it should be kand yes I filled up all slots with cables)

        • I only realised this the other day when I was wondering why my laptop was only getting 40w… and then I experimented and tried unplugging all the other cables and it shot up fo 90+.

          • @jace88: but why, why… weird it just cable none drawing power from it.. or the cable itself taking some wattage? any experts here can explain?

            • @CyberMurning: Some cables are smart, even with no load attached, they may indicate to the charger that the port is in use.

Edit from previous comment. Looks like the official site states 100W from single port, also the print on the product. Worth a try if you have never tried GaN chargers.

There are better form factors from other brands. Currently using ugreen 300W with all the latest charging standards. Fast charging our two MacBook pros, two iPhone 15 pros and an iPad Pro in one go.

  • The charger provides 100W on both USB-C ports.

    • only in total when not using the USB-A port

  • Picked up one yesterday and so far so good. Not loose in the powerpoint which was my main concern. Strong charge for the phone and laptop together and blends in with my white kitchen finish.
    No complaints for the price.
