  • I waited too long to pull the trigger on the JB deal, glad I could get one here. Thanks op!

  • How do you load/store/read say any third party books/comics etc on this?

    • On an Android device, an "APK" file is the kind of file used to install an app. I haven't actually got one to try, but youtube has many instances of people installing common apps like Kindle (search kindle apk) which is called side-loading, and then using it as if it were a native Kindle device. Files (or comics) themselves can be moved to the device via USB, or Google Drive. I hope that makes sense.

You can try Calibre for loading up the books. Works really well with most eReaders.

  • Try to phone your local JB and ask if they still have stocks. I managed to get one as they take it off online if they only have 1-2 in stock

Would this suitable to read comic like tintin Asterix Lucky Luke? I already have surface pro

    • There are a couple interesting videos on YouTube that compares different e readers for reading comics. I guess it's up to you if you prefer the larger screen size and colour, vs. black and white and portability.

It works well, loaded Onenote and Kindle. It works fine, I don’t know what others say about the other apps not working

    • Do you write with the pen in onenote?

      • +3

Yes, it works fine. Just put it on fast mode instead of clear or smooth. In addition, put it on ink mode as well

    • Does it need a subscription to be usable?

      • +1

Just your normal email for the onenote

        • @AirJordan23, Just wanted to confirm that the “one note” notes sync between the desktop and this e-reader without any issues and without any subscription. Thanks

          • +2

@Ronney: Yes it syncs to Lenovo Smart Notebook

@AirJordan23: I should add that while OneNote works, it is not as smooth an experience as writing on the stock app.

              • +2

@bonechiller: Yeah, you are correct. Better to use the native writing app then upload to Onedrive

                • @AirJordan23: Thanks @AirJordan23 and @bonechiller.

                  • +2

@Ronney: A good workaround I have found is to use the native notes app -> upload as PDF to Google Drive or Nextcloud, etc -> Import into OneNote or Notion or whatever you want.

Has anyone tried PressReader with one of these? I'm wondering about using it for reading newspapers.

Its a pity would have tried it at this price

  • OOS for my postcode delivery and click and collect now

    • I lost the deal right at the moment I pressed add to cart

I got mine today. I had it price-matched at Goodguys, and I had a voucher for $60, so I paid $287. That's not bad for the price.

  • The main problem is that there are no replacement smart pens (magnetic) or nibs available when they wear out. They won't be coming out anytime soon, based on the update from the lenevo support team.

  • For anyone to picked one up, some exciting development here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15195626/redir
