Nice! Didn't know they were making a 3rd one. Will wait till it's really cheap though

I think Annual Sale B1G1F will start soon at JB

It's not out in Aus currently from my understanding. Will be by EOFY

        I mean, I don't have a 4K tv worth watching this on, or a 4k player so I think I can wait a while… 😉

  • To me not as good as the others. They threw in quite a bit of unused footage of the previous planet earth. I only liked about half the episodes.

    • Unfortunate. I specifically didn't watch it for the 4k release.

They probably have the best 4K HDR of any release. Unlike the usual studio 4K blurays that dim down their images to show better highlights in HDR, this is the way its supposed to look. I usually have these playing in the background basically like a demo of how good the TV can be. In saying this is not as good as the other two overall. It still has two of the best sequences I've seen from them. The opening scene from ep1 and the one in Sri Lanka are real standouts.

Ahhhhhhhhh - did you not read the whole description? I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. But not Collingwood disappointed.

      • did you not read the whole description?

        no, just the title

      • But not Collingwood disappointed.

        Still salty huh?

    • Does that stream in 4k too?

My TV upscales, so any difference is hardly noticeable.

        • You must be blind JV. Any deals on Specsavers going around?

          • @pharcyde: If I was blind, I wouldn't be able to watch it…

            • @jv: That minor detail wouldn't keep an ozbargainer away from a bargain

        • But some people want Dolby Atoms, binge watch without using Internet bandwidth and physically own a copy to collect dust.
Also, OZBers want to support BBC so they will make Planet Earth 4, 5, 6, 7, 8…..

          • @netsurfer:

            some people want Dolby Atoms

Is that a positive thing though?

    • Gotta looove that Nine streaming quality 🙄

      • -1

        Yep, it's pretty good.

  • Considering Planet Earth 2 has been down to $12 - I'll wait

    • -3

      I prefer the original…

'Bop bop bop bop bop bop bop bop…'

  • It is very unlikely the UHD/4K version will be released in Australia. The DVD/Bluray versions are pre-order for 3 April 2024 (at JB Hi-Fi but possibly other retailers) but there is no listing for a UHD version.

If you want the UHD version this is one of the only options.

Frozen Planet II was not released in Australia on UHD, only on DVD/Bluray.
