Yes
1k for a 70 series card lol
sounds bad until you consider that it's better than the flagship card of the previous generation that was considerably more.
Nah it is still bad, because you expect extra performance every generation.
They just said its higher performance than last gen's flagship.
Im gunna assume they're not fibbing, so;
4070ti => 3080tiObviously, all the cards have been poor value this generation, but if you dont like that, dont buy, or go back in time and buy something else.
@TsunamiInTheHouse: I am just saying it is bad because we used to extra performance every generation for "free". Now we get the extra performance, but still have to pay extra for it.
And yeah I don't have any control over Nvidia's pricing, so I am just saying it is bad, because that is about all I can do about it.
@TsunamiInTheHouse: But last gen's flagship was the 3090 Ti…
What do you mean? 3090 is 384 bit/24GB lol
This is a 3090 core soldered into a 192 bit interface. aka a xx60 spec board. I can't plug a core into a PCI-E slot. Bit disingenuous to ignore the shit memory architecture on the 4070ti. xx70 series was always 256 bit, all the way back to GTX 670.
On a related topic, is it worthwhile purchasing a 4070 ti super 16GB over a 4060 ti 16GB for AI/ML ($400 uplift)?
4070ti 12gb is about double the performance of 4060ti 16gb (VRAM limitations aside). 4070ti S would be slightly more.
if you're doing AI a lot or making money from it, the performance/$ makes sense.
4060 Ti 16GB: 23.39
4070 Ti 12GB: 41.62
+178%With the increase in CUDA cores and memory bandwidth, the Ti Super 16GB will be just under 2x the 4060 Ti 16GB
The ATL deals for both cards are fair for AI price/performance uplift:
Inno3d GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Twin X2 Graphics Card - $599 + Surcharge (Free Delivery) @ Centre Com
PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16GB VERTO OC Graphics Card $1199 + Delivery ($0 to BNE/ SYD/ MEL/ ADL/ ACT) @ JW Computers
The 4070 line is worth 500-800 but everyone is getting desensitised by the bad prices.
Wonder how things will play out, given that gaming is no longer the focus for Nvidia.
Look say what you will, I'm not sure this is the best deal, but a 4070 was about $1000 before the new products, so it has to be somewhat better than that?
Bit like celebrating it's Lyme instead of AIDS? Anyway this memory gimped card has been similarly priced since its release and is long overdue for a price drop. 75% through this gens lifetime once you ignore nvidia delaying next gen
At the very least the super variant should be this price by now. 256 bit/16GB is what this card always should've been
I haven't done the maths, but I'm interested in it.
Something like, price to performance, generational improvement per generation, then adjusted from inflation.
Maybe starting at the GTX 700 or 600 series to today.
I mean we know both the 40 series and 7000 series are both really poor showings in terms of price to performance increases, but I'm not sure exactly how bad.
I wouldn't recommend this GPU/card, just observing it is slowly going in the right direction, even if it's slight.Yeah i'd pass on this model and at least get the 4070ti super. 192 bit and even 12GB is incredibly bad for the money regardless of the core
Ti super was $1,200 days ago
