boy, those were the days. We'll achieve the sub $250 again. It will be the year 2033. Regards to Mrs Muzeeb.
Muzeeb Jr to our rescue
$1,300.26 with 7% student discount.
This is ATL then?
38 inch oled anyone? :)
39" in the future, but no 38" that I can see.
Wrong side of ATL.
Released at the end of 2022, now overpriced.
Yup, and the 27" QHD 360Hz model is offered below this price, which is a 3rd gen panel vs the 1st gen. No deal.
where?
found it
Not a deal, just the new price. Has been this way for a week or 2.
Im waiting for a good code to bring it down to around 1000-1100.
Triple digits or no deal!
Does anyone know of any non-curved OLED monitor options ?
I didn't see many, when I looked a couple of months ago.
Curved is life. Life is curved.

I think most 34 are going to be curved because it's so wide
Curved was a really bad idea for TVs, but for large wide monitors curved is almost a must. It improves gaming immersion.
I'm not into gaming at all.
When looking at a spreadsheet, the curved monitor makes
the gridlines go "curved" and I don't like that wonkiness
when looking across left and right. You adjust. Now if a ultrawide isn't curved it looks the opposite.
OLED isn't great for spreadsheets tho, probably the worst content for it.@beeze: I have a 34" LG IPS flat-panel for more than 5 years now.
I enjoy it and I don't think it looks the "opposite".I have an ASUS OLED 15" portable monitor,
and it's much better on my eyes, and I don't mind spreadsheets on them either.
I just change the colour temperature in the settings and it's OK to look at.
spreadsheets on this exact monitor are a joy to behold … I worry about the burn in but you know … whatever
There aren't many non-curved QD-OLED monitors around tbh. AFAIK and specifically for OLED there are some 2nd gen models, as well as 3rd gen QD-OLED models that have come out this year:
- Alienware AW2723DF (WOLED) - 27" 1440p 240Hz
- Alienware AW2725DF (QD-OLED) - 27" 1440p 360Hz
- MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED - 27" 1440p 360Hz
- Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDM - 27" 1440p 240Hz
- Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 OLED - 27" 1440p 240Hz
- MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED - 32" 4k 240Hz
- Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM (QD-OLED) - 32" 4k 240Hz
The Monitors Unboxed YouTube channel have reviews for each of these models so feel free to look them up if you want a super in-depth analysis on them.
There's also the AOC AGON PRO AG276QZD WOLED - 27" 1440p 240hz (probably cheapest atm)
number 1 on your list is not an OLED display.
Good shout, thanks for that (wrote that up in 5min for my work break)
Non-curved your option is TV, 42 inch LG C1/2/3
dont know any Ultrawide flat OLED monitors
I think the New ones from Dell are non-curved
MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED
Don't think this is deal at all. I have purchased AW3423DW at $1450 2 years ago
agreed. This doesnt quite meet ozbargain standards
Can you claim this on your tax as an income generating expense ?
I claimed a 43" monitor. Just can't claim it in one go.
For the proportion of time it is being used to generate income, yes. Just stream all your gaming and declare your Twitch income ($0) on your taxes to claim all of it.
$1679 for NVIDIA version
With new oled monitors coming this year with real competition, I don't see how buying something thats old and selling for its regularly discounted price a deal.
That's it. Old and yet all these new ones are all subpar. From ROG, BENQ, the samsung curves, LG.
QUICK google for the best gaming 2024 OLED will give you the answer straightaway. That is the reason why they can maintain their pricing.
How are the new Alienware / MSI / Asus (and soon LG) new generation QD-OLED monitors subpar compared to this one?
Yeah I'd like to know this as well. Only thing I can see are those monitors coming out at a really high price point making this monitor still worth it in terms of value.
But subpar? I'm interested in hearing what's subpar about them!
What does that have to do with a monitor? 34" oled on a laptop seems excessive
I'm merely expressing my surprise that a monitor is more expensive than a fairly decent laptop.
If your laptop was under $1400 it is not decent.
@adamshere: It was half price you snob.
It was half price you snob.
So this monitor costs less than your laptop at full price then.
You must be surprised when comparing an apple to an orange.
Premium monitors are a totally different experience to the average cheap consumer monitor. I have a BenQ SW2700PT 27" IPS which was over a thousand bucks when I bought it - it has a different feature set & is optimised for different purposes. e.g. it comes with accessories so you can hood the screen a bit, a separate independent control device so you can switch between different monitor modes & options (e.g. colour profiles).
Can't speak of these Alienware ones - you're probably paying a bit for the brand cachet here I guess. But it might be more than just the panel.
@trawg: Not really bro. It's mainly hype.
I got the Asus ROG 165hz 27 inch 1440p, $1100 when it dropped. Good monitor.
But honestly not that different to my mid level 15 year old Dell which was just a VA panel. I really don't see it. Had them side by side and I'm like, yeah, bit brighter.. Certainly not the upgrade cost.
OLED is awesome, and I love my LG oled TV.. So yeah games look great on it but to me it's just nice
OLED
@BusMan247: A gaming monitor that can do 165Hz at 2K is a totally different thing to a 15 year old monitor that was what? 1080p at 60Hz?
If you're not playing games or doing something else that requires high refresh rates (and of course having the PC hardware to support that rate) then having a 165Hz monitor is almost certainly a waste of time. (I'd probably argue it's a waste of time even if you ARE doing those things, but that's just me.)
The "brightness" is not what you're paying for.
If you are doing serious graphics work (which I do not, but I know people that do) especially for things like printing, it makes a huge difference to have better support for certain types of colour profiles.
Wonder why they never made a 38" version of their oleds. Want to go from ips to oled but don't wanna downsize…
Niche size, but I believe there will be some 39" in the future.
I think it’s something to do with the size the panels are cut from, 34” uw means no waste from the larger panels that are produced.
I think I bought it for this price when it came out?
use this long running deal to get 7% further discount, should be $1301 after 7% discount
Time to play Witcher 3 again
I got one its great.
One thing that did my head in was everyone recommends "creator mode" when you search 'best settings'
I tried it, it is so lifeless! I just keep mine on standard and the colour actually pop.Yeah I notice that with my LG OLED TV half the content I watch auto offers cinema or directors mode whatever it is and literally any profile that isn’t default just looks unnatural and dull.
Default profile with HDR/Dolby vision. Content looks out of this world good.
IMO, went to jb Hi-Fi to have a look at it. It’s bang average, lacklustre for a monitor in 2024 esp at that price point. Purely anecdotal obviously. But highly advise for you to go check it out at JB before plunging. I ended up getting Dell S2722QC for $370 fwiw.
Hard to see deep blacks under retail lights. The best feature of OLED is its backs are black
With QD-OLED you’re not going to see blacks unless it’s in a very dark room anyway
This gets repeated a lot but isn't really the case as it totally depends on the lighting.
It's been a complete non-issue for me in a fairly bright room, but I get that for some setups it might be an issue.
@itscyanide: It’s an issue if you have them right next to each other (with a WOLED)
Still looks pretty good, just not great next to one that doesn’t suffer the same issues
@cille745: That's a fair point. Non-OLED screens also look a bit ordinary when used side-by-side with an OLED of any kind.
Not necessarily a deal-breaker for everyone (especially if the larger or primary screen is the nicer one), but something to keep in mind.
Under $999 and maybe,
I got the DW for $1250 from JB using discounted GC and matching prime day its an excellent monitor however im surprised this model hasnt come down
Can anyone recommend a desk arm for this monitor? Not many can hold this heavy monitor right?
Usually will be a bit pricey I would go a step above what you need. I had a monitor arm that was suitable for 32 inch 10 kg but did not hold my 32 inch 8kg monitor
Meh!
