I doubt this really kicks the Llama's ass
..kicks?
Whips đ
You're probably right.
I bet it really whips the llama's ass though ;)It's been so long I thought it was "kicks".
llama's ass or arse?
My dyslexic brain automatically read at as winamp :/
Winamp and Napster, those were the days.
the issue i'd think with streaming amps is how to control them ? I use a Yammie WX50 and use the Yammie Musiccast App which is… ok but thats it, its OK. I use Net Radio mostly now because the playlist options are woeful, difficult to edit, designed by the soup nazi of playlists if you wil. no renaming of lists removing songs from lists etc. SO its either taht or BT from the phone and why am I buying a reasonable amp (using good bookshelf speakers and a sub) amp and resorting to using BT ffs?
AirPlay?
For the musiccast, I know spotify works from the spotify app on your phone. I would expect similar from Deezer, qobuzz and tidal but haven't tested.
You can also do airplay2 using cloudplayer on android. Then again this isn't my main music listening system, so choosing an album to play off my phone is fine.
Please elaborate on airplay 2 control from Android? Is cloudplayer the actual name of the app? It looks pretty basic on first use with no indication it can stream to airplay 2.
What's the cheapest amp to run a pair of speakers in the garage?
The one from FB Marketplace or Gumtree.
Or hard rubbish.
Fosi
Yea, I run a cheap Bluetooth one from Amazon, pumps well, but it is driving Klipsch, which is known to be easy to drive
More than a decade ago, I brought a Lepai 2020A+ (tripath amplifier) off eBay for $20. Gave new life to my old Sony Hifi speakers; I was very happy with it and used it for many years.
The tripath chip was later phased out by the manufacturer. I've never tried the newer versions down below but I heard they are comparable.
eBay (overseas) for about $30: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/202062276872
Local stock for about $88: https://www.decibelhifi.com.au/lp-2020ad-mini-amplifier-withâŚ
Getting a âSorry, this coupon is not applicable to selected products.â?
I get the same thing, tried signing up for an account too and still get the error
Same here. Shame! Was in the market for exactly this device
The WiiM amp has been getting very solid reviews online for its price.
We sell heaps of them. They work great and easy to use
How does this price stack up?
It wonât get much cheaper than this. In fact it shouldnât really be discounted. We can match but prefer not to
Tempted to get this to replace my wxa50 as this has hdmi arc. Anyone compared the two for sound quality? Running q350s and kube 8
I was in the same boat as you but ultimately decided against upgrading from the WXA-50.
I looked at quite a few reviews and while sound quality is very similar at lower levels (slight edge to the WXA based on objective stats), I read a bit about the Wiim struggling under higher loads and sound quality falling apart. That was a dealbreaker for me as my WXA-50 runs double duty for TV audio and music in the living room.
I'm running the Kef Q150 and Monitor Audio Bronze W10 5G. Curious as to your thoughts on the Kube 8
Thanks, if I could sell my Yamaha for 300 plus I think worth upgrading for ARC. Kube is great for music being sealed unit. I got it for 600, no regrets.
You should easily get $300+ for it.
Wxa50 is a great little unit
Whatâs the best way to run multiple ceiling speakers that can be zoned in a house? Without using a bunch of these. Say 16 speakers with 4 zones for example.
Depends on budget. Naim have an impressive multi zone amp coming out this year
Can you link me to info about it please?
Looks like they've booted this one off the promo, hopefully some of you got in
Poo. Was too late :(
Damn was just looking at this the other day
What a pity, seller could have made some $$
The price is probably controlled.
Darn was literally thinking about this earlier today
Wiimamp… Winamp… Wiimamp… Oh, I'm in way over my head
