  • Can anyone confirm my workings out? I don't have travel planned, so velocity points aren't my goal. Rather supermarket gift cards.
So if I was to stop the auto transfer, rather accept the 220'000 Citi Points, which is around $1050 gift cards for woolies.
Less the annual fee, meaning a $750 profit churn, which is better than the Citi Prestige Card offer? (and an even better deal if I can wrangle an annual fee refund of some sort)

  • Anyone having issues with Krisflyer transfers being rejected?

    • Do you get the message about not having enough points? I hear there is a 10k minimum even though it doesn't state it

    • Go ask now! XD

  • Annual Fee: $300 annual fee in the first year. $150 in each subsequent year if you spend $48,000 on eligible purchases or cash advances in the previous year, otherwise $300 p.a. ongoing

Does Payall counted as eligible purchase for halving 2nd yr fee?

  • I have just received the card. When I login to Citi online the rewards tab has no transfer points option per the Citibank website. So I can't enrol any auto sweep for the offer?

Does anyone know what I am missing? Other options in rewards say this:

    Miles Registration
To access Cards Services, you need to have an eligible product

Am I not setup right ? I swear I put my velocity number in when signing up??

Also I am abit confused. Why are some here not using auto sweep to get 110,000 velocity? Isnt the 220,000 Citi points the same as manually transferring which gives you a 50% conversion??

  • Is there anything stopping you from being eligible for these bonus points if you've closed the same card say a month ago? It doesn't seem like it and I can't find it in the terms, like a lot of other cards "Can't have held the same card in the past 12 months, etc"

  • Where do you get clarification that this points offer is included in your card? I have just opened up a card for this offer but nowhere does he say anything about rewards. Plus it won't let me add to ApplePay and Wallet at the moment.

Did you check the URL when apply for this card? It should contains something like this:

      https://www1.citibank.com.au/CardsOnline/citi-premier-velocity-ph?cid=AF-PointHacks-Premier-CC032024-VFF110KExcl

Also, should take screenshot for proof later.

Re: issue with add to phone happened in the past with me as well. Then after of a week of tried add to Google Pay, it suddenly worked for no reason.

      • Not sure about the URL, I went through the Points Hacks link which seemed to indicate this. Points Hacks have replied to me and stated that they can't really tell and I have to follow it up with Citi. The ApplePay issue sorted itself out.

Give Citi a call and they can confirm on their system, I had the same question as you earlier.

  • Yep, thankyou. I need to call them on another issue as well because the supplementary card holder only sees their transactions in the App, I see them all. My partner is the Supp and she ain't happy :).

  • Hello brian trust, applied but got rejected. Does Citi reject churners?

Based on the advice here, I did request a manual reassessment. Btw, I'd consider myself a high income earner and have an excellent credit history. What are the chances of them changing their decision? TIA

    • How long ago was your last card application before applying for Citi? Mine was 7 weeks, and wondering now if I should give it a few more weeks before applying.

  • Did they pull this deal early? When I go via the link and click apply now, it shows a error 404 page

    • +1

It’s still there - just tried on my iPhone

      • Cheers, weirdly enough I was able to apply via a Facebook ad and staying in the Facebook browser but not if I tried to got via the points hack website on Chrome

  • +1

Just applied and got approved within like 10-15 minutes. I quick and smooth process.

P.S. I also have Prestige card with them, maybe that helped to fast track the process as they have my data.

  • Is the PayAll available right after approval, or do you have to wait for the physical card?

My understanding is that you can 'pay' someone to meet the minimum spending requirements for the bonus points.

    • Curious about this too… when I called customer service they were saying that Payall doesn’t contribute to the min spend

      • +1

When I enquired via chat, they said that it does contribute to spending requirements.

  • Does anyone know if an application with CITI is successful with bank statements showing income and/or an income statement, or do they insist on pay slips?

    • +1

Only need 2 payslips for me - had many CC applications in the last 7-8 years or so with Citibank (average one new application each year), 90% successful rate (1 rejection probably due to many consecutive applications in short period).

  • +1

Was an easy application process. Applied 11 at night. By mid day next day it is still pending assessment, then call them and confirm few things then got approved straight away. Told them that I’m going overseas in the next few days and need the card asap. Card arrived in 2 days :)
    Time to spend the 8k!

    • +1

Wow thats fast! How much time was there between your previous card application (at any credit provider) and your application for this card? Want to also sign up, but my last card was requested 7 weeks ago with Virgin Money, so not sure if I should wait a bit longer.

      • Applied AMEX Velocity in June, approved in July, then applied for this one in September.

  • So I got the velocity flyer card around 7 weeks ago, which I believe Virgin Money credit is provided by NAB.
In your experience is it too soon to then apply for this deal as well, given NAB is also the credit provider for Citi cards?

  • are you guys still applying for this card through the point hacks link? The annual fee through points hacks link is $300 where as on the citi website it is $150.

    • You're probably looked at a different deal.

  • What is the general rule on waiting period for Citi credit cards? No mention of 12 of 18 months in the T&Cs, except for Citi Rewards credit card - Velocity offer where they have this clause "Customers who have previously received or are entitled to receive the 80,000 Velocity Points will not be eligible to receive another 80,000 Velocity Points".

    • If their T&Cs don't mentioned explicitly any cool down period then there's none.

      • Thanks. I might call them and confirm

        • Did u get any clarity from your call?
Did they disclose any waiting periods?

  • got approved for citi premier (citi rewards) with a limit of 34k. was hoping to get atleast 80k so I could do a BT and put it in the offset. total annual income is 200k including rental income and outgoing mortgage is 28,800 + 18k in other card limits.
Has anyone been approved for this card with a higher limit?

    • Nope I just got approved for the same limit!

  • Have any get difficulty in getting their bonus points? I signed up, met the required spent quickly, however looks like they had an issue enrolling me into the rewards program and mine was adjusted manually.

I'm trying to chase them up but kept being told to wait. Its annoying experience so far.

    • +2

I got the bonus points after the 2nd statement, I think the terms state 8 weeks after meeting the spend.

      • Did you find you got the points and you didn't provide your rewards program? I have received the Citi points but how to enrol in velocity is the hardest part. Can one just use the Citi points instead of transferring to velocity ? No impact?

        • Yes you can use them in anyway on the citi rewards site.

  • +1

I applied again (I closed this card from Apr) and got approved within 5 minutes. Let’s see if I can have the bonus.

  • I'm a bit new to this but Citi posted the ponts to my Citi account. I'm not familiar with linking the velocity but is there any clawback or issues just using the Citi points as is? Or must you link and transfer out to velocity ? As far as I can see they've fully paid out the rewards anyway? So what's stopping using the Citi points and not transferring to velocity?

Is it better value transferring to velocity?

  • Just signed up, the app expired and I had to resume so I hope they honor the bonus…

Btw, this is the most lax application I've come across

  • Does anyone who applied for this card know if the 0% p.a. for 6 months with no balance transfer fee offer applied for this card? I called up to take advantage of this offer but they said the offer was not linked to this product.. I can see that it is clearly available to the premier card on the Citi website but the offer on the Citi website is slightly different to this Pointshack offer. Citi apparently are going to confirm with the product team and get back to me..
