Best Z690 MB is back for good price ($1 more than my last post in Oct 2023). I used it for a few months now and is quite satisfied with it; I can also confirm with BIOS update, this Z690 MB supports 12/13/14 gen CPUs. Best of all, it has 3 M.2 slots with a PCIE card to support more!

I cant speak specifically for motherboards, but certain times of year they do stocktake, clear oversupply or slump in sales, new models coming out, bought cheap excess stock, could be anything.
It's because Z790 is on its way out. By October/November Z890 will be here and it's a different socket. Eventually once the supply runs dry these Z790 boards will increase in price again.
maybe because of 2024 Computex is coming and next gen cpu and motherboard will be announced. rumors indicate zen5 is very powerful
That could be, and besides Z690 has been out for quite a while anyway, since end of 2021, current intel chip is Z790, came out 2023.
Pretty sure AMD will just announce Zen5 EPYC at Computex for servers and datacenter. Apparently maybe Gamescom is when they will announce Zen5 for consumer desktop. CES next year for Laptops and a small upgrade to desktop via X3D.
yeah not suitable for me no thunderbolt 4 pretty much number one priority
Since when was Thor a kungfuman?
Since the Kung Fuhrer battled Dinosaurs.
Reason not to get this model:
Z690 + DDR5 generally don't have the best stability (Memory tracing on PCB isn't optimized), can't even run XMP with certain sticks, and generally have low memory speed celling.
only 3 M.2 slots, even my most basic MSI Z690 PRO A (DDR4) have 4 slots.
the top M.2 slots steals bandwidth from top PCIe slot, making your GPU x8 only.
Any deals on an AM5 equivalent strix board like this?
I need x3 full sized PCIE slots for GPU, 25GB SFP NIC and HBA.
2 M.2 slots is fine.
Would like to know as well, if you find one, please let me know?
that's really cheap
Crazy, I built my PC a year ago, and this price only matched a msi B660-pro-A-m MB…
But, to be frank, the MB with CPU overclocking capability is the worst price value one (If you want to do overclocking). You need to pay additional money for coolers and consume a lot of your energy on overclocking. Finally, you get a tiny performance improvement and lose some of the stability.
I prefer a good power supply and a nice-looking mb with a non-k CPU.
Is there a reason why we are suddenly getting a bunch of ATX motherboard deals over the last few days? It feels like we didn't get any good deals for ages before this.
