Who is Laser? is that an Australian company that used to make laptop bags?

    • I had never heard of them before, but apparently they are already selling their products (cables and chargers) on Harvey Norman and Big W.
So not a random Alibaba drops hipper.

      • +13

I hate those drops hippers especially when they are from Alibaba and his 40 thieves!

Seems to be a rebrand of this product: https://www.shellcharger.com/p/58.html

      • I like that 240W they have with display on the side showing each ports power details.

I remember this brand from the late 90s/early 2000s as they sold cheap computer parts and blank media

      • +1

Yeah is it the same one? Looks like the same logo. They were the kogan of the 90s.

It’s giving burning cdroms of Dreamcast game vibes.

    • I use to sell there DVD players and audio equipment where i used to work, got just about everything back faulty

      • +2

        Where DVD players?

    • I think they used to monitor cleaning solution, or cd wipes or something. Can't exactly remember.

I bought one… Better check my smoke alarms and insurance. Seems very cheap for a 100w gan

  • I wonder if this can do 45W charging for Samsung.

    • In the item description:

      USB-C1/C2: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/5A, 100W (Max.)
      USB-C3: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 30W (Max.)
      USB-A: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 30W (Max.)

Samsung requires the charger to support PPS for super fast charging. Doesn't look like this one supports it.

        • I received mine today and can confirm that it does Super Fast Charging (45W) on my S23 Ultra.

          • @colcha: That's great, Laser really should mention it on their product webpage.

    • Cheers got one!!

Nice. I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced 100W gan charger that won’t burn the house down. Does anyone know if it has interchangeable power plugs though? Really wanting one that I can easily use for travel with swappable heads. Or does anyone have one they’d recommend for such a case? The heymix one is what I’m after but without the “feature” of catching fire.

    • Not sure why I got negged there? I was about to order one of the heymix ones before reading a big post on here about the actual internals of the heymix chargers. And real reports of people that have had them catch fire. I have a 30w heymix charger which has been fine. But I sure as heck am not getting another after reading how little they’re actually protected internally.

      • +8

Some people are born to neg.

      • +3

I gave you a "like" to even things out :)

        • Haha thanks mate. Just not sure why anyone would neg it? Unless they work for heymix? I was genuinely shocked by the first hand experiences and reports by others. Had fully intended on buying another heymix product and at the higher power.

          • @dwhes: Buy the Zyron one, they seem like the best affordable chargers, have 3 of them at home without issue. They get warm but not hot like the cheaper ones do.

            • @Jolakot: Nice. Do they have swappable power plugs for travel?

            • @Jolakot: The 100w zyron charger I got sometimes not providing enough power, the Asus laptop I use complains the power is not enough and doesnt take the charge

On the same laptop and same type c 100w cable, using the Kmart anko 100w charger never have that power not enough issue, but anko one does get hot after sometime when charging at 100w rate

              • @littlesoldier: Odd, I've never had that issue with my usb-c Lenovo laptop, but I use the Zyron powerpod for it. I don't think all of their chargers are rated for PD 3.0.

                • @Jolakot: I have numerous Zyron PD chargers, including a powerpod, all 100w+ and on both my current Lenovo Yogo 7 Pro X and my previous Yoga 7, it complains about wattage being too low. I have however plugged a yoga flip 5 and a Thinkpad X13 in and they don't care, so I think it is only the devices devices that actually charge at over 65w that complain (the factory charger on the yoga 7's is a 95w).

It still seems to charge reasonably quit after the low wattage warning, you just need to make sure the laptop is already on, or it will get stuck on bios and actually drain the battery.

              • @littlesoldier: You should get an inexpensive inline USB C power meter to see what voltage / amperage is being supplied

            • @Jolakot:

Buy the Zyron one, they seem like the best affordable chargers, have 3 of them at home without issue.

Funnily I bought 3 Zyron 65W Powastone chargers in mid 2022. All 3 have died. One got very hot, the other two I'm not sure.

Zyron replaced the first one (took quite a while), but are asking for postage for the second one. The third one my friend chucked out as it died while on holiday so I couldn't send them a video showing that it doesn't work.

              • @eug: So they're offering you a replacement for all of them except the one you tossed? Seems pretty reasonable to me, maybe a bit harsh to ask for postage on the second one though.

Maybe their quality varies more than I thought, but I've given them out as gifts as well and never heard a complaint.

Could you link to the post and reports?

    • +1

I’m looking for the same kind of charger. Doesn’t look changeable unfortunately.

  • Ordered two. My house is over-insured, so I'm good either way.

    • its legal (read above) that should give you some peace of mind

  • When I added the code it dropped the price to $67 not $43 why?
