The 256GB refers to (non-volatile) storage, which is flash memory, not ROM (Read-Only Memory). The Amazon listing says 256GB RAM so I guess no one cares about the meaning of words!

    • Well no, it's just that Amazon listings are wrong so often we just ignore them

Demand a refund when you don't get a supercomputer's worth of RAM in your pocket honestly. False advertising is still false advertising.

      • +1

Problem is you will have to return it to them

    • Isn't it an EEPROM? therefore a ROM?

      • Sure, but it doesn’t say EEPROM. The EEP is changing the meaning of ROM.

        • Whatever you say mate, have it your way. EEPROM has been called that for 50 years, but I guess no-one cares about the meaning of words.

          • @Wardaddy: The OP description said ROM not EEPROM or flash (or even EPROM, as if you could peel a sticker off and shine a light on the inside of the phone to update Android). Fruit salad doesn’t make any salad a dessert.

              @akerr: No one cares.

              • @Wardaddy: Thank you for this delightful exchange of ideas. May you find happiness and many bargains!

  • 390 grams

At the risk of me whooshing, 390g is the whole box.

      The phone itself weights 169g

        Thank you

  • Price match at your local officeworks for $316 and change if they have it in stock

  • Upgraded my g82 with this. Larger camera sensor was a pretty decent improvement.

Has a headphone jack I'm sold.

Has an SD card slot. Rare these days. But unfortunately, the SD card shares the same slot as the 2nd sim slot. Decent phone for this price. I got mine during the last sale. Happy with it.

  • Is this same as the BIG W being sold recently.

  • Is this single or dual SIM?

  • This would be by next phone if my last phone (Motorola Edge 20 Fusion) showed any signs of actually slowing down or breaking. It's 3 yrs+ and still not showing flakiness as I've seen in previous Samsung, Google or Xiaomi phones I've owned. I don't game and my apps are usually of the functional variety or food ordering so not close to stressing it in terms of processing. NFC is a bit sensitive but not enough to replace it yet.

  • Is this one of the handsets people were having app issues with?

I can't remember if it was Uber in particular but rings a bell

    • +1

I believe that was for the G14.

  • If you only have $200 ish, willing to wait for sales & just want a basic-phone, there are few-phone that can match G54's features & hence a worthy consideration.

  • Hmmmm, wondering to grab this or risk a dodgy buy like aliexpress for the Poco x6 5g.
Though i've never really had a faulty phone. Though my ChinaPhone has an annoying bug or two.

    • +1

      My POCO X3 bricked.
      Apparently super common. shrug

      • I think i may have heard a certain model had issues with the motherboard.
Yeah. It's tricky. The X6 looks great on paper. But is it reliable?
And if it's a matter of reliable, is the 'better' stuff worth risking a more reliable brand like motorola.

  • Does anyone know whether this is Australian model?
Don't want to buy this and have issues with all the carriers disabling 3G

Background: Have Poco F2 Pro where I had to put in code to enable VoLTE - that worked for about 2-3months and now it no longer works on Vodafone

    • It is, comes with 2 year warranty

  • Can this be used for overseas? Buying one as a gift. Soz not sure if region lock exist anymore

    • +1

      You should be fine.

  • Well, it was either Cherry Red or this.
