Hi Ozbargainers,

I thought this day would never come, finally I've locked in a firm supply of Momesasone for 2024, a fresh batch of 140x Dose Mometasone has just arrived with a great expiry date of: end December 2025. I've been scavaging stock and begging suppliers to provide this product for nearly 2 years, finally the ship has come in (literally), I've received more messages, emails and calls asking for long dated Momestasone than any other product - and here it is!

I've got several over the counter lines in over supply due to purchase commitments I have with wholesalers and suppliers - some are long dated (and some short dated) product, not that Mometasone needs a running buddy to help it sell, but I thought I'd pay it forward to the good folks of Ozbargain and throw in something from the "overs" cartons we have in stock.

So tonight's deal is 3x 140Dose Mometasone (Long Exp) plus a bonus item of your choosing! For a couple of coins over $40 Delivered with tracking I think this is a pretty awesome deal.

3 x Pharmacy Action Mometasone Nasal Spray (140 Dose x 3), Exp: End December 2025

Thanks! The prophecies foretold of this day!

Is this like Nasonex or a completely different product?

    • +1

Yes, its like nasonex. Nasonex is just the name of the product, which contains Mometasone which is the chemical compound (look online).

It's an important thing to understand. In my case my kids had an allergy plan which recommended them to use a BRAND of an antihistaminic, and at the education centres there refused receiving any medication which was not the exact name of BRAND, which was expensive. When i had the plan updated, i asked them to put the name of the active compound, which now allows me to choose my own brand as long as it contains that compound. Same would apply when you are prescribed a BRAND of medicine, you should always ask them to also include the active compound (e.g. panadol is the brand, but you can find cheaper alternatives if you look out paracetamol)

      • In contrast to this, I had a school ask me to write the brand in brackets for an allergy action plan, not just the active ingredient ie Salbutamol (Ventolin). Maybe to prevent some staff getting confused?

        • Good info! Then next time I'll ask them to include "Compound (e.g. brand)"

  • Any deals for Sambucol equivalent?

  • Can cause thrush

    Awesome!!! 🎉🎉🎉

For what it's worth to others, I've bought from this vendor before, product always delivered in a timely manner, as described.

    Thanks OP!!!

I've recently used Dymista and found it to be a relatively effective (but expensive) nasal spray for my never-ending allergies. Is Mometasone likely to have the same effect, or are they on completely different levels of intensity?

    • My gp got me onto Ryaltris when Mometasone stopped being effective for me. Ryaltris is even more expensive than Dymista :(

    • Dymista is a bit more effective in my experience but some people find it can leave a bad taste in your mouth (literally).

    • +1

Dymista is a steroid + antihistamine spray, mometasone is steroid only. Dymista and Ryaltris are both the "next step up" from steroid sprays like mometasone/nasonex/rhinocort/etc. They are more effective for allergic rhinitis symptoms. However most people respond to steroid sprays in general so if you havent tried one alone it is worth trying (especially because of cost).

      • As an allergist, I would usually only recommend mometasone for mild allergic rhinitis. Steroid by itself also takes up to 2-4 weeks for the full effect whereas with combination therapy you get the relief more rapidly. Dual therapy would best for moderate or severe sufferers. It's also useful to identify the allergens for avoidance and consideration for immunotherapy if it's quite bad. More information can be found on my website www.drjasonyu.au

  • all the links are the same

    • Yes, they are the extra item you can pick to be bundled with the Mometasone

For those of you looking for individual Mometasone nasal sprays. Can suggest looking at https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/76669/azonaire-hayfe… . $13 each

I use this too and works a treat!

    • Chemist warehouse told me they have a policy of one per customer last time I bought some. 😑

  • Can this be used for 10 year old kids?
