  • Important to note the included battery is only 2Ah. You won't be doing much chainsawing on a single battery.

I did quite a bit of sawing on a 2Ah battery with my Rockwell pole saw. I do have extra batteries though and went through maybe 2 or 3 for quite a big log. BTW Rockwell/Worx/SCA share the same battery fittings (but some batteries need a small plastic bit cut off with a stanley knife).

Oh also noticed 3.6mtr reach is weasel marketing terms. Includes the height of your body and arms. If you check the actual equipment dimensions it's much less than 3.6mtrs.

      • Machine length: from 1.8 m to 2.3 m (fully extended)

I have the Ozito 2x18v version. Great tool but doesn't last a super long time with sustained use, with 4Ah batteries hence the comment. Heavy too when fully extended!

  • Wow this is a great price especially given the extension length. Tempted but I bought a Rockwell pole saw previously. Had to use that on top of a ladder to reach high up and also doesn't have a hedge attachment. Hrmmm

    3.6m max cutting height

    • Note the 2.3m length is about 60cm shorter than the ozito.

when it goes on sale get the Worx Jawsaw! Its been the most useful "safe" chainsaw I've ever bought for my old man! He is still alive using this chainsaw @80yrs old chopping up quite a bit of big branches in his garden every year!

Prior to that with a normal chainsaw he has operated on himself a few times inching on the grave a few times.

WORX JAWSAW! I have one for myself too! Best tool seriously.

  • Thanks OP, got another worx tool

  • Do Ozito batteries fit WORX?

  • +1

This or Ryobi? Ryobi costs more but the oil free feature sounds good. Anyone with Ryobi can comment about it?

    • Ryobi is on another level, but you pay for what you get, Id get this…. or 2 really depends on how much sawing you got to do….

    • Theres a reason every decent saw uses oil. You wont find a larger one without it.

  • Does the pole shorten to a regular tool length, or are you restricted to using it for faraway objects?

    Edit: minimum tool lengths:
    Trimmer mode 1.3m
    Chainsaw mode 1.8m

  • This looks similar to the Ferrex (Aldi) chainsaw and trimmer. That is $99 without the charger and battery.

  • Got one thanks OP!

Well do I have a site for you my friend ;)

      • Go on…

  • Is this another ecosystem? I think it's time to standardise this like usb. Tho, $100 for the pole pruning and I will get one

    • Same ecosystem as Rockwell, SCA

  • Are WORX better than Ozito generally?

If I want to use my Ozito PXC batteries so I'm not starting yet another battery ecosystem, Is this + the $60 battery adaptor mentioned above going to be better quality than just buying the Ozito PXC 18V Pole Hedge Trimmer - Skin ($199 @ bunnings) + Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Pruner Attachment ($68) for pretty much the same end price?

    • I don't know about Worx quality, but assuming it's at least on par with Ozito, the Worx deal is better as it includes chainsaw, battery and charger; ozito is just the trimmer, without chainsaw or batteries.

just get the Ozito kit for $116, includes skin + battery. I got this at $155 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/822350) and it works well for cutting down large tree branches. 2 Ah battery is more than enough cutting down a lot of branches.

    • Ordered one of this. WORX seems to have better design and quality than Ozito. But it only has 3 years warranty compared to 5 years from Ozito.

    • +2

Ozito offer 5yr warranty on the tool and 3yr for the battery. They also exchange / replace with no or minimal questions at any Hammerbarn. For me that's the most convenient so I went with Ozito.

      • But which is does the better job?

        • Subjective question. For me, I haven't had any issues with the Ozito, it's been used on branches up to 5-6" thick. I like using it in "compact mode" ie without the extra pole for quick pruning up to 3.5m, it's easy to wield and rips through most garden variety timber.

  • Thanks! Bought one to add to my Worx collection and my generic one won’t start anymore.

  • I guess its good only in weight. Petrol ones are just like monster to use.

  • Does anyone know if this can be used without the pole? cheers!

    • +1

      No I don't think so.
