InB4 someone says there is no $19 plan, click on the link in the 2nd paragraph. It's available after the 1st month.

Once your account is set up you change to it ready for the following month.

    • If I need this for a short period of time (3 weeks),

I just need to purchase it for $22 and I will get 100GB and unlimited phone call for 30 days?

      • +1

Yes if you activate on the $45 (100GB) plan. Link to the plans are in the description.

Don't forget to port out or cancel via the app before the next payment date.

so you saying $24 for 3 months?

  • +1

Can someone explain how these Belong deals work?

Am I right to assume that once you get the $45 100GB starter pack, you also need to go on the $29 plan. Then after the first month you switch to the $19 plan.

    My questions are:

    • Does the 100GB credit lasts indefinetely until you use it up? Or is there an expiry?
    • Whilst having the 100GB credit, you also get the 5GB monthly data allowance each month?
    • I wasn't sure initially. But I assume the 100gb relates to if you register to the $45 plan which has 100gb included. It shouldn't be in addition to other plan allowances if you choose a different plan.

      • +4

The data lasts as long as you recharge. You'll lose all your banked data when payment is more than 25 days overdue or if you cancel your Belong mobile service. 5 GB extra data will be added each recharge on the $19 plan

  • Might consider porting out and then back in for this

  • Can you port your number in to this from another Telstra network provider, such as Boost?

    • +1

      Yes

    • You might have a lesser network coverage though.

    • but why port to this from boost ?? you typical want a cheaper porting service, with boost deals (to hopefully go back to boost soon (within the next month or probably before if like less than 30 day plan).
Lebara is cheaper if you just want porting service or use it for 1 month + port back to boost.

      • Any cheap boost 365 days plan?

        • +1

          https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/telstra-35…

$17 for 6 months Preapaid Casual plan + supposidly extra 3 month OTP/reciving stuff

probably worth it ?? (just need to buy before expiration today)

if you only care about longer expiry and recieing OTP's this $17 deal is better

but if you need outgoings and data probably belong is a good deal (if you cannot just do more sim hopings)

      • It's my main number, my year long boost plan expires at the end of this month and then I'm overseas for 8 of the following 12 weeks. This would be cheaper than renewing boost immediately and less hassle than trying to switch plans while overseas or deal it being expired when I get back.

Do you just keep creating new accounts to make use of the referral credit? Is there a way to delete the accounts once you have done with the 3 months? What’s the max number of accounts one can have?

    • +2

yes, you need to use a new email for referral credit

  • If I understand this correctly, I’d be paying $24 for 3 months of service with 35Gb of data, 25Gb of which will be available in the first month, and an extra 5Gb extra each month after which builds up as long as I renew my service regularly?

Wouldn’t I be better off going on the 100Gb plan for the first 2 months to bank as much data as possible and then switching to the $19 plan? It would be $47 for 200Gb and 2 months service.

Or do I also get 100Gb from the sim pack?

    • +2

You get $65 credit ($45 sim + $20 referral) as mentioned in the description. It's up to you which plan you choose to activate on, I've just outlined the cheapest option to make it last 3 months.

      • +1

Thanks WatchNerd this is a good deal, and pretty cool you can activate on any plan, I’ll have to do some quick math to work out my data requirements.

        • you could also buy data via OzB classified, just be aware of fraud.

    • Yes, looks like - $24 for 3 months of service with 35Gb of data.

Thanks OP ! . Been waiting for any plan to cover 2 months for Parents visit .

    • You better of getting Kogan Mobile Plan - 10GB /month $5

      • $5 for the first month and then $15/m ongoing?

This or 10000 Telstra points $80 starter SIM pack+$20 referral? Haven't seen 2000 Telstra points offer for a long time

  • Does it stack with the 'spend $50 four weeks get 10,000 points' offer?

    • +1

Based on my previous experience yes, Telco purchase is fine for the spend target and only any gift card purchases were not counted

  • Can anyone confirm if you can receive text while overseas without purchasing the roaming?

    • Yes can receive text while overseas. Full list of countries Belong website. Also very convenient can make wifi calls while overseas - that is if you are on wifi with wifi calls enabled on your phone you can call using your belong service to phone home to Oz numbers at no extra cost.

  • I believe this can be activated for data-only plan as well, which would gives you 4 month's usage?

  • When do you enter the referral code? At account creation, or sim activation? I haven't activated yet but I'm up to credit card details and I haven't seen anywhere to enter the referral code

        Cheers.
The site was redesigned since the post so had to go far down to find a current explanation which I'll paste below:

think the website's been redesigned since then. It is now on the screen AFTER entering CC details. The invite code box is now smack in the middle of the next screen. You won't be able to miss it.

        The stages now are:
        1) PLAN - Select your plan and add-on
        2) SIM NUMBER - Register your Belong SIM card number
        3) MOBILE NUMBER - Get a new number or keep your current one
        4) PAYMENT METHOD - Add a credit/debit card or your PayPal account
        5) Confirm Everything <—- This is where the invite code box is now

  • Does anyone have another code to use? the code listed in the OzBargain Belong pool does not seem to work

      • no luck. maybe because I was previously a belong member a couple of years ago

        • +1

It has to be a new email, otherwise it won’t work.

  • This deal is now expired.

Current offer is $35 40GB Starter Pack for $17.00.

  • +1

Went into Coles Stud Park (Rowville, Victoria) yesterday and they still had this deal - $22 for the $45 100GB Starter Pack. Grabbed 2 of these.

  • Thanks Op. How would I know if the referral code I use (from the ozb pool) is still valid or not? Do they have to hold an active Belong mobile service?

    • Just keep generating a new code if it's used already. Just port my number to Belong and use the first referral code successfully. $1 was taken from my paypal account too.
