  • But the M3 MacBook Pros are included?

  • Anyone know if cashback will work if I use gift cards?

    • Terms say

This Cashback deal is not valid together with:

Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform

      • Purchase of GF? Or purchase using GF?

        • -1

Based on the several paragraphs in the terms, I’d say they suggest both. The paragraphs I quoted above refer to “payment method in the form of gift cards”.

From the last deal, it was pointed out to me that you can pay partially with Apple credit balance. I did that, the cashback was calculated for the whole amount and I am paid as well. Not sure if anything changed between the times. Even if there was a westpac bonus, it calculates for the whole amount not just the partial part.

  • smh i was holding out and gave in last night. 😑
    could've saved an extra hundo.

    • +1

Apple have 14 days returns policy.
You can always order today and return the ones you bought last night.

    Some Exclusions Apply

let me guess, excludes Apple products 😋

  • Stacks with this? No indications that it wouldnt..?

    • -1

Yes it would, noting that the invoice shows this gift card as a separate item. The cash back would only be applicable on the product cost minus gift card amount minus GET on product cost

      • A little confused. The invoice I guess might show the gift card $x included at $0, but the amount payable is still $y, not $y - $x, so the cashback isn’t calculated based on $y - applicable tax?

        • The invoice shows gift card same as the amount it is for

          • -1

@rake: 😵‍💫 too complex, forget about it.

      • Using a gift card as part of the purchase normally invalidates the cashback. See GEE-SHOCKs comment above.

        • That’s not the case with Apple and Amazon

  • +1

I don't suppose anyone from the last https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825219 SB boost purchased using gift cards (loaded against Apple account) is here and can provide feedback if their cashback was tracked?

Holding out for another Cashrewards boost because I know theirs pays successfully from first hand experience, but not sure if we will get another CR boost before the EDU offer ends in a few weeks.

My upsized one for black Fri is not tracked and declined even though customer service confirmed that they can see I placed the order and I also have screenshot of placing order within shopback app.
I’m still fighting for goodwill credit to apply in this instance as clearly it’s the tracking issue between their IOS app and Apple end.

Had over $3K from SB and past experience has been good, though a lot tracking issue from last year (I’ve always used their IOS app with screenshot just in case). YMMV.

      • Thanks for that and sorry to hear you are having difficulty with yours from last year.

Sounds like it's a bit risky then, especially if going for a larger purchase.

        • +1

Just wait CR, normally both CR and SB do the upsized Apple promo just a day apart

        • +2

CR are doing the upsized 8% edu from 4-12pm today, time to pull the trigger!
BTW that SB has officially declined my $150 upsized apple one for no reason, just avoid SB!

          • @li1123k: CR excludes macbook air

            • @googoogaga: You’re right damn apple just updated air product line to M3 last week, which made it ineligible now!
It’s good for people getting 14inch MBP like me though.

      • Shouldn't have to fight to get your cashback. I avoid Shopback. Not worth my time

  • -1

Looking to buy MacBook Air from edu store , have some credits in my account as well, too scared to use this cash back , might not track or refuse .

  • +3

@gotyourback any chance you can confirm payment with Apple gift cards and/or pre-loaded Apple acccount balance will still be eligible for cashback?

  • I'm confused, so many exclusions to the point that you cannot really get a higher deal based on what you after…. is it just me or others experience the same?
PS: I'm after macbook air 15"

  • -2

    Way too much exclusions

  • The exclusion list seems to have changed once the deal went active, anyone else seeing that?

    • Yeh, they’ve removed the iPhone 15 series and MacBook M2 from the exclusion list

  • Any one used this yet?

  • +1

It works with paying apple gift card.

  • Mine still hasn't tracked.

    • +1

Has it shipped or been delivered yet?
