  • MLC only 600TBW?

New Samsung marketing term, calling anything "x"-bit MLC

True MLC is 2-bit and the last drive to have it was the 970 Pro released in 2018

You can write 82 GB to this SSD every single day for 20 years until you reach the 600 TBW limit.

    • Isn't 600TBW really common for 1TB drives?

Same price at JW, MSY, PCByte, PCCG, and Umart.

    • Not seeing it available at JW. MSY, Umart, PCByte are all the same company. Went with Mwave because they have the cheapest delivery for this product for me in particular - I'm considered regional. I think MSY, Umart, PCByte beat Mwave by 95c for metro areas.

    lemme ask this

the SSD nand thing has gone into drought right?

the glut is gone… the bargains are gone

like i know samsung is SSS tier 1 but $120 for a goddamn SATA 1tb???

    come on

You are literally paying for Samsungs reputation and warranty. People pay for that, so that why we pay so much for a product like this. I agree, it’s not fair but we as consumers have no control. Look at the price of food for christ sakes, the world is bonkers!

personally i prefer the cheaper crucial mx500 1tb for $95

      https://www.centrecom.com.au/crucial-mx500-1tb-3d-nand-ssd?g…

      • I think MX500 is good enough.

      • Is this the best price for mx500 1tb?

          not an all time low

$95 looks to about the norm from most places
