    Do you have unflavoured ones?

    • +1

Bulknutrients did pretty good unflavoured whey protein last time i checked :)

      • Thanks…

Need some to make some low carb breads…

  • I did some quick bush math and calculated:

    1,757g total protein in this
1,501g total protein in $99 of eggs

The eggs have other nutrient value (fats and cholesterol, minerals, vitamins). The powder has sugars, salt, and additives.

Eggs require preparation (unless drunk) - requires time, can be made into recipe varieties and meals (i.e. taste, satiety) - and has other uses in a kitchen.

You could run a similar comparison (maybe higher protein) for chicken breast and tuna.

I'm whole food FTW. What makes powder the preference for some?

    • Faster to digest, flavour profile for those that miss having treats. Eggs are great, but some people are on restrictive macros, hence the best part being yolk may also tip the fat macro scale.

    • not as 'preference' but as 'supplement', easier to consume to hit that target daily protein intake, I do drink whey on top of other source of protein (egg and meats) as well :)

      Convenience.

      Eggs require preparation

      I just boil them…

      (unless drunk)

I still boil them, even when I'm drunk…

I have a protein shake in the morning that is two scoops and is approximately 60g of protein and 5.5g of fat for 320 calories. If I was to do that with eggs, it would be 10 eggs 62.6g of protein and 47.4g of fat for 715 calories. This is without any additional cooking condiments, oil, butter etc.

The bioavailability of whey protein is extremely high and is one of the best sources of protein you can get.

A carton of free range eggs for a dozen is approximately $7, at 6.3g of protein per egg x 12 x 14 = $99 approx. You're looking at 1058g of protein for $99.

I also can't take a carton of eggs in my bag to work and add water at a time that is convenient for me.

Eggs would be more calorie dense due to fat content. But yes they have more nutrient value for sure.

Honestly I just enjoy a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder

    • Being a vegetarian and getting a huge part of protein from protein shakes (2 scoops minimum) and then having 4 eggs per day, if I try to make it all eggs, I will surely get constipated and that many extra calories will make me fat.

      • Seitan brother! More protein than chicken. But yes I also still have protein powder, mainly just cos it’s delicious

        • Where the hell do I buy seitan?

I hear vegans rave about it but I've never seen it and I assume it's exxy

    • What about the fat found in the eggs?

    • This has BCAAs added. That sh*t is expensive.

  • Costco option 2.88 kg Chocolate for $112.99

  • Ive been recently diagnose lactose intolerant so new to this. Is this lactose free?

    • +1

no. Whey is dairy. You need a plant protein, not a cow milk protein.

      • Thanks!

        • This would have been a good test of the diagnosis.

  • Thanks OP. Almost ordered S&S off amazon, so this came in clutch. Ordered white chocolate (never had the flavour before, usually just double chocolate, so hoping it's decent).

    • You're welcome!

  • Pity you dont have the ISOLATE version of Optimum Nutrition on special. Any deals on that one?

    • Currently not but will check if there are any isolates in general we can do deals on in the near future. We did have a Dymatize iso100 sale a few weeks back but got an unenthusiastic voting response to it even though we did manage to sell out of it.
