New releases coming out in April, i can see big discounts around then
@BatmanAU: March/ early April. Careful not to hold out too long as deals tend to get worse late april/May
@Savvy shopper1111: Apparently if you listen to the big sales companies, there is going to be a big release April sending older stock through the floor

MiniLED > VA LED.
Tcl easy.
Any thoughts on using this as a computer monitor?
That's my thoughts, probably good if your intention is to game with controller at 4k in Triple A story titles and if you primarily use computer for media and entertainment it would probably work nicely. I couldn't imagine using it daily for other tasks though.
I personally cant understand anyone wanting to game on something above 27inch maybe 32inch let alone 50inch. Unless you are planning to play your computer as a couch gaming .e.g sitting far back not at desk then okay.
Anyone tried a generic Chinese OEM OLED TV such as this for around $400 for a 65" OLED?
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/OLED-65-inch-Smart-TV…
I bought a 3D 4K Tv this way 12 odd years ago (Harvey Norman thought I was from outer space when I asked for a 4K TV back then..let alone 3D). It was about 5 years ahead of it's time and cost 1/4 of then current mainstream TVs..and more importantly…still works today.
The good- Its a LG 4K panel. Still a great picture 12yrs down the track
The bad- It comes with none of the LG upscaling/ processing ability or menu's (such as Backlight adjustment). Just the basic brightness, contrast and basic sound option menu. Warranty…well ..it's an offshore warranty. So DYOR on who you buy through /reviews.But it's 4k ability was awesome 12 yrs ago.
So tempted to again with a 65 OLED for $400. I think a lot of these are the Skyworth/ Metz OEM TV's - TGG or similar got some in and sold them off for $1100 or similar last year.
Side perk of these is you can submit whatever graphic logo you want.."Ozbargain" brand of TV, and the price drops as your quantity increases.
I think you'd be lucky to receive any kind of OLED panel for that price. Description says "Type: LCD"
Definitely DYOR / protect yourself.. But definitely a heap of cheap OEM OLEDs now out there.
If TGG can retail a 55 OLED for $999 back in 2022. Just waiting for the OLED flood gates to open…

Minimum order - 10
Have to organise shipping
That sure as hell ain't OLEDThat was the first link I found for an example. There are a few out there. Some sellers will sell one unit. I bought my one unit as a "test" purchase.

FlatPanelsHD: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&i…Great Bang for Buck as long as you can tolerate blooming.
50 inch is as big as we can go. Is this the current best buy?
I can get 5% off at JB hifi if they will match too.
General consensus is these are bang for buck. I've noticed they've changed to back order on these for $904. Price match might be a bit hard at JB with that considered however I'd look at reviews for this company before purchasing from them, very mixed reviews but if you're local probably worth it.
Thanks. JB did price match.
I haven't purchased a new tv for about 12 years.
I know this one says it'll play 4k. Does it do it well enough? I remember back in the day tvs advertised hd but it didn't always play back as well as it sounded. As long as you're playing 4k content into it it'll look amazing e.g actual 4k streaming and 4k blu ray discs. HD content is upscaled to 4k and it's meant to do a pretty good job of it. I don't personally have one but if you go on other deals with this TV others who have bought it don't regret it and recommend it for being good quality for the price. Best thing to do would be cross reference a few different reviews and see what they say before making the purchase. I personally own a crappy 50 inch Falcon that was given to me by a mate who upgraded his TV but I have my eye on this model.
Going into store to check it out would probably be the best choice although it's really hard seeing actual quality under those bright retail lights but will give you an idea of what it looks like next to more expensive and cheaper models.
@lookingforadeal7: Thanks for your help mate.
hodl until the 75 [email protected] aud deal comes back…
