A bargain.
Thanks OP.
PS - JV doesn't like nutgrass. But he loves Tina Turner's "Nutbush city".

Call it Nutbush city limits…

the only sedgehammer i want is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R03Dtu1r6nk
"trust me, i know what i’m doing"
I paid something like $65 for this stuff
Apply at a rate of 1.3 g (measuring spoon included) per 10 L of water to treat an area of 100 square metres.
Wow this stuff is potent!
This is usually around the $65 mark, so will definitely get it.
Where do you find the guide? I couldn't find it anywhere on the website.
Just on the manufactures site if I recall correctly.
You will find that nut grass will require multiple applications so hold off your excitement.
As with anything garden related, it will require ongoing maintenance. But I'm happy to do it. Better than on my knees, breaking my back if I can just spray the dam thing.
What's wrong with some nutting in the grass anyway……?!?!?!
Doing it in sight of your neighbours
I have nut grass, summer grass and a wide varity of weeds in the couch lawn, is this suitable? https://www.bunnings.com.au/david-grays-500ml-crab-grass-and… If yes, what precauttions should I take?
I dont think the one you linked to will help with Nutgrass, but I cant see any reason you wouldnt be able to spray both of them in a short space of time (not an expert)
you need to identify what weeds you have an use an appropriate herbicide (determine what active ingredient you need). a broad leaf weed killer will take care of many broad leaf weeds but weed grasses will probably be unaffected. nut grass is particularly hard to kill. the product claims it is effective on nut grass
I have a lot of summer grass and nutgrass and some mullumbimby couch
Nutgrass is one of the worst weeds you can get in your garden.
It can spread by roots (nuts), runners, and seeds.
Sledgehammer is the only selective weedkiller that can kill it (mix with a bit of dishwasher liquid, it helps the spray mist stick on the waxy nutgrass surface)
Yeah at this price I think it should be a duty for all houses to treat their properties to try to eradicate it ;)
Do a group buy, https://specialistsales.com.au/shop/turf-domestic/turf-care/…. Much cheaper in bulk
FYI, halosulfuron is the unbranded chemical and is about this price on ebay all the time.
Thanks, I had no idea!
This is what I bought a few years ago. Lasts for ever as you only need to use a tiny amount. I just bought a 2Ltr sprayer from bunnings and treat the bad areas. Works well. Apparent Halosulfuron, comes to about $35 with eBay Plus. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115318495296?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…
@danzig440 - would you mind linking the 2L sprayer that you mentioned about? I am looking for a basic sprayer for my backyard. Thank you.
@EyyBanane: If you are doing a yard personally I would recommend https://www.bunnings.com.au/aqua-systems-5l-garden-pressure-…
@isthisreallife22: Yeah it just depends if you want to treat your whole yard or just patches. Ive got about 300sqr meters of couch and it usually pops up in certain areas in clumps so I just hit those areas. If theres a couple here and there I'll just pull them out by hand.
Wish I had seen this before I bought this deal. Oh well, you live and learn. Not too far off the price.
Op, do you have a link for something above to disperse the chemical, but runs off baterries instead of muscle?
Do you have any battery tools? Most of the big brands like Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi etc have battery sprayers. I personally haven't used any battery sprayers so cant recommend any. Youtube University could help you there
@danzig440: Yep, I have an ozito drill. I'll check out yt. Thanks.
@danzig440: Well I never! That's amazing, thanks!
Now we just wait for it to go on sale, lol… 😂
I wanna be your Sedgehammer
Why don't you call my name?
