I have been waiting and checking price on this for months and its finally been discounted. Not quite as good as the $2888 which was offered in October and again in November last year, but you can take advantage of the 5% welcome code and 1.75% Shopback also.

When I was looking at the x90k and the c845 sony still won, sony's post processing is fantastic.
Sony will definitely be better. However for double the price, value for money wasn't there for me.
I got my C845 75 inch -1500 $ from the deal that was posted here.I thought I got a good deal at $1660 after cashback. Nice one if you got it for only $1500
ETA it appears I paid $1660 and waiting for $132 cashback
TCL are garbage. I have a recent model and the video settings won't stick, meaning I'm stuck with the soap opera effect every time I turn it on. Lots of other people online with similar issues. Would never buy again.
How does this compare to the X95L version?
From all the reviews online it looks like the upgrades on the X95L are significant enough to choose that one, if both are on your radar.
The X95L was quite a leap. Sony will tell you they don't sell it here yet. Sony have been lying for at least a year, the "pro" shops around Melbourne have them on display/order.
But the major retailers are not carrying the X95L? Wonder if it's coming or Sony is only planning to bring in the 2024 model (XR 70/90).
X95L costs significantly more @ $5k on special for 75". I think pro shops come with 3 year warranty vs 1 year via Sony direct
I think C845 has more dimming zones, im not a tv person so dont know if thats important or not
Yes and no, you can't compare this tv to the TCL c845, the Sony is better, but costs almost twice as much when both are on sale. It's not a fair comparison.
what? 75" is mini ?
It's mini LED
I have the X950H 75". Great picture, a bit of haloing on mine. The mini-LED on the X95K should help with that though.
The OS on mine is Android TV OS and there was an unavoidable update about 3 months ago and the UI is now soooooo laggy.
I expect you'll be fine with the (slightly) newer model. It uses Google TV and may be a tad better. But keep in mind that in a couple of years you may need to get a Apple TV or similar set-top box, like myself.
Tried a factory reset? I have a X95G and it's fine.
I have that tv too. Beautiful picture and crazy bright.
Mine has been laggy too recently. Will try another reset.I've got the 90F and find it terribly slow. Now have a Fire Cube to avoid it. Sony really needs to up their processing power for the OS to give a better experience to the customer.
This is an issue with upgrading operating system. Was fine on Android 9
Depends. I have a 7 year old Sony X7000D android tv and its still usable. I have not needed to connect an external media player to it.
Ha, I had an X9000B (I think) which I gave to my brother after upgrading to a Panasonic OLED a few years ago. The old Sony is still going strong. I almost bought the one with the huge speakers on the side, whatever that model was.
I wish they would sell panels with a separate / mountable control box. A good panel should last a decade or longer, especially if it is downgraded to a second TV but the OS won't.
$50 will get you a Google TV dongle. I am using one on a 15 year old dumb tv.
Currently using a VodafoneTV box on an old TV, but it feels a little kludgy compared to the native interface especially for visitors.
Enter developer mode and turn off animations for menus. Helps.
I run an X94D and X90J did that to both.
Mind you my x94d is now pretty horrible (I use Chrome for it) but android os is fine on the J
Thanks for that tip. Just did that on my X950H. It's much snappier!
Any deals on the 85 inch?
Just a note that the 85” X95K has a different panel which makes it markedly better than the 75” and lower variants. If you can get that, then it’s definitely worth it - I switched from LG OLEDs and have never looked back (esp with the latest firmware updates). Be sure to read the avforum owners thread (or get copilot or ChatGPT to summarise it for ya!)
Sold out just about everywhere. I missed the HN special in October 😕
Ah bugger. Yeah I’d nabbed the 85” for ~$4600 after cash back on this deal. Amazing tv that still brings a smile to my face every time I use it!
Shopback and Cashrewards do not reward when a voucher code is used at checkout - right?
Good question
Shopback has tracked my click but no confirmation of successful validation yet.
Unfortunately the X95K Sony still uses:
Slow quad core cpu
2.9gb memory
32bit version of Android
Most mobile phone CPU's are way faster
You are paying premium price for a Sony but getting very basic OS performanceCan you suggest a MiniLED TV with much better specs at this price point?
yup, same chipset for 5 years or something now lol… I think they are finally updating the chipset in the 2024 models?
Pick up a google tv or Amazon fire stick 4K max - can be had on special for $50. I have one of these from before and connected it when I got the tv but have never used it. I just use the native OS and Netflix, YouTube, Prime, Disney, Apple TV, nba, Plex all work fine for me. Never had to switch.
what do people do with the large TVs they replace? Sell them on FB marketplace?
Can't imagine that being an easy task…
I've been wanting to replace my IPS X800H because daytime usage is impossible.
Also available at Catch if you want to collect flybuys.
But no 5% Sony signup discount!
How and when do you get the 5% welcome coupon for the Sony site?
Signup for free membership at the Sony website. Takes around 30 mins to receive the email with code.
Did that, and wondering when or how I get the coupon?
Disregard, the email came through after 15 mins
Isn't K is the old model?
Better than the new L in some keep areas - like sound. Checkout the rtings comparison review. Plus price is around $2000 less!
@JeBs isn't the 85X95L better
I've been waiting for that to arrive here if it ever comes. Also waiting for the major retailers to carry this model. Even if the 2024 min-LED model is available this year, it will probably be beyond my budget.
I think this X95K is a pretty decent compromise. I was considering the 85” but it’s bordering on too big for my living room. It’s quite amazing to think we’re currently using a 45” and it just works fine - the mind adapts. Only reason I want a 75” is to play Just Dance and to have a “cinema night” which I’ve never had before for the family. Note the heat and energy usage of larger screens can be significant, so sometimes smaller is best.
The new model version usually comes out every April. Just wait a little longer
Sony store is $150 cheaper with the welcome coupon
Works out the same with ebay plus (5% discount)
Plus you have maybe more of a risk free purchase on ebay.
Been waiting too since missing out on $2,888 which at the time also had a 10% welcome voucher.
Feels wrong now to go for a worse offer when 3 months later you would think there'd be some better offers, but I've been monitoring this and nothing better has come up in the meantime - JB Hifi and Good Guys both seemed to stop stocking it after November so that really limited the source of sales
Similar situation for me but with the 85". What's up with Sony? I wanna know what there sales strategy is re mini LEDs in Oz considering x95L not available direct from Sony.
What improvements for me to upgrade from Sony Z9D 65inch to this,
Using it since 2016. :) now mostly using as a display as I have connected Amazon fire tv 4K MAX. Only issue I am facing is HDMI hand shaking issues as frame rates refresh and not connecting to correct hdmi resource connected.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as looking for 75inch screen upgradeOOS.
How big is the difference between this and TCL C845?
