  • Got this recently from a family friend 2 weeks and I like it so far.

I wish when someone rang the door it would come up as like a call on your phone similar to Whatsapp or to get rid of the 3-5 second delay in the call coming through to the phone.

Still a great device and glad I bought it.

    • Alexa integration is pretty quick. Alexa says "motion detected at front door"

  • Anyone know if the mount is the same as the eufy 2k doorbell?

  • +3

I wonder if it'll be cheaper tomorrow night for the JB Perks member sale.

  • Are these easy to steal? Not in a good neighbourhood to have one yanked off by some teenagers after school pass by

I have the 2k one mounted on a gate and I fabricated a mounting block where it screws in from behind (onto the screw holes where existing doorbell power can be connected in). This means you need tools as well as a pin to pop it off. It seems to be a good solution so far

      • From what I see, one only needs a pin to pop it off and steal. A screwdriver is required to steal the bracket that holds it on the wall, but that's not he valuable part of the device.

Happy to be corrected here, but it seems it's extremely easy to steal if you know where to insert the pin.

edit: By this redit thread, it seems I don't need to be corrected.

You cannot remove mine with a pin due to the mounting block I have made for it. There are screw holes in the back of the doorbell device for existing doorbell power to connect to the Eufy doorbell device. My mounting block includes screws that go into those screw holes that need to taken out before a pin can be used to remove the doorbell device.

Source: Me. I built the mounting block, tested my ability to remove the doorbell with the removal pin and also removed the doorbell to charge it.

@Domingo: I get it now, forgive the confusion. I read and understood your comment, went down the google hole, came back with not quite relevant reply. Thanks!

So these are easy to steal, unless extra safety measures like yours are added.

  • Does the eufy ‘ring’ your phone or is it just a notification?

Also, does eufy alert you google home/alexa hubs?

Really hard to find this information anywhere.

    • It sends a notification and not a 'ring' at least on my android phone.
You can configure it to ring on Alexa, I've configured it to ring my firestick max.. but it doesn't work at times, unfortunately I couldn't find the reason why it does that at times.

    • It plays a little tune by the White Stripes.

But seriously, yes you can push through to Alexa/Assistant/HomeKit via the app settings.
You might be able to download the 'eufy security' app and have a little tweak around without adding a device to it.

      • Yeah almost a deal breaker then.

Arlo for example i know when the doorbell rings your phone like a phone call. Heaps better then a notification which can be easily missed

Happy with the the Reolink Poe for a fraction of the price of this with no subscription required.

    • Thanks any weblinks😬👍

      • Amazon have a cracking price on it at the moment. Would go for the Poe purely for having a more stable connection over the WiFi version and no swapping or charging of batteries required and Google home assist integration.

    • you need a datacabler to do the installation, otherwise I would go for the POE one as well. There is no subscription required for this one too

  • What the … deal gone less than 1.5 hours. They must had only few.

  • Just wondering if therea are any other alternatives where theres no subscription required, cheers 👍

    • See above comments about the Reolink doorbell options - it's also half the price of this deal. The only downside is that there's no battery version (yet, one has been announced but not released) so you currently need wiring of some description.

  • Amazon currently have the 2K doorbell + homebase2 for 20% off. https://www.amazon.com.au/Eufy-E8210CW1-Video-Doorbell-Batte…

    • this has 2 cameras and a home base is not required
