I noticed that Turnips & Swedes were 45c/kg at Coles East Victoria Park. Parsnips were also marked down to 45c, but seemed to be sold out. Not sure if this deal applies to other Coles or other states, and I couldn't find it in the online catalogue so I have added [WA] for now.

Love going through regular checkouts with turnips and swedes. Always get asked what the heck they are lol
The problem I have is that coming from Scotland, we call them the other way round from many other places. Turnips are the big yellowish things and swedes are the smaller white things with purple tops. They're both great if properly cooked, though turnips are definitely improved by some haggis and mashed potatoes.
In America the checkout guy asked what a parsnip was. To be expected in a place with shelves of different “flavoured” instant mashed potato.
Thanks!
(but $15 for a jar opener?)
