Yes, unfortunately very inconsistent. Some of their blends are good. But ive have had one too many vegetal or 'straw-like' SOs. The rate in which they release different SOs is also a bit odd. Just a constant release of different stuff and not nearly as quality as I would like.
All coffee roasters in Australia are pretty inconsistent. The names mentioned above and even normcore.
I prefer normcores SO roasting style compared to many of the above mentioned.
The positives with normcore is they're pretty well priced on special, they offer a large variety of regions/producers, and they appear to move SO green beans fast. if you see a roaster offering the same producer for a long period of time it's probably stale green beans.
Yes, I find the frequency with which beans move in and out mostly reassuring. Their beans can be very good, but you have got to go in with the intention of working with very light roast coffees. I recommend their funky processed coffees, but also any of their Ethiopians are good. I made a casual plunger with a washed Ethiopian once and it was life changing.
HOWEVER, I developed a technique for my cold brew explicitly because of Normcore SOs. Their singles are so lightly roasted, I need to do a pre-swirl to really get the punch of flavour I'm looking for. I now use this technique for all filter roast coffees, but it started with them. Fun fact.
what is this, coffee gacha?
With gacha you at least know the range of possibilities and the probability. With this …random coffee from a range of unknown coffee.
But how much is it?
More than 90 gacha capsules.
$44 delivered doesn't appear to be a bargain for 600 grams of random coffee.
Seems more like using OzB for free advertising than an actual bargain.
Too right, there’s no deal here.
$34.50 for 600g SO and pick up for Sydney CBD workers seems like a decent deal
Bad seller, bad deal, bad coffee.
To provide more context this seller holds no accountability for ensuring coffee is delivered in an appropriate time frame. They also roast their beans too dark for a light roast..
They charge a ridiculous amount for abysmal v60 single origin coffee. Their coffee is either too dark that it tastes burnt or lack of flavour that it is a nightmare to dial in to extract something drinkable… It's not even good
Just avoid this company.
grabs popcorn and eagerly awaits to see the op save this one by demonstrating good customer service.
Won't happen. their customer service is some of the worst I have come across
Do you have a cold brew blend similar to what you sell in store? Or can you share a ratio of what beans to use?
Or, I could buy 1kg of freshly roasted coffee of a blend or SO of my choosing for less than that delivered via LimeBlue or Airjo.
I bought 2kg from there when they had the Kilo Duo Special for $58
I went 1kg x Golden Dingo Blend and 1x Damm Good Blend.
Ordered on Jan 29
Dispatch date Jan 30. Received Feb 1.
Roast date was Jan 29.
It was the first time ordering from them and I have no problem and the Golden Dingo Blend tastes amazing and is up there with the likes of Coffee Alchemy. I'm yet to try their Damm Good Blend yet.
This deal is $44 for 600 grams though?
I've only had their damn good blend but it's my favourite out of limeblue and grandcru
It's punchy which is the way I like it
I picked up from the city which is why it's better than grandcru (pick up is in the North somewhere)
Anyone used normcore beans before and can compare them to some of the more well-regarded Australian roasters i.e Code Black, Ona, Proud Mary, Seven Seeds, Five Senses etc?
