Lol. Using your logic here, I should have just bought this one and saved even more money as it would do the job https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-12v-1.6-amp-batt…
High current will warm up the battery, great if a hurry, but can't recall ever wanting 26 amps to charge my 12Vcar battery … number of stages seems to be going up with each model so get you buy a new one, my current one 6 stage, the one I had 2 years ago was 5 stage,
A 6% discount is not a bargain.

it does the job for $100 less
Your charger: 7 stages, 15A, 12v only
OP charger: 8 stages, 26A, 6, 12 or 24V
Thanks - you have reinforced my points very well. Not much difference for $100. 24 volt charging is a pretty rare use case for most people and the extra amps might save you a few minutes if you have really messed up and let your battery get to a state of charge that has damaged it anyway.
Sounds like you should have saved your money and got this 10A charger for $99 - not much difference for $100.
@Spam Service: great review on that one

@Spam Service: Thanks - good find!
I have to agree.
6% discount really ismt much of a discount.
I recall being told that many businesses allow for a 10% discount rate for anyone who said 'is that you best price'. So basically they meant that 10% was built into the price as an additional price to allow for anyone asking for a diacount.
Just bought a Victron 25 Amp Blue Smart charger for $268 (with an ebay Plus code) on ebay. It is only 12 volt, but you can connect to it by bluetooth and customise the settings.
There aren't many standard batteries that you can charge at 25 Amps. Only high Ah and lithium. For standard c ar batteries 10 Amp is enough (you can run this at a lower setting).
Ali is full of Foxur-like chargers doing it for $50. And don't tell me that you have a battery needing 26A charge.
That's more than enough in many cases. And a lot cheaper!
Can someone pls explain to me why buying a replacement battery instead of this would be a better alternative?
Even the replacement one still needs to be charged. It's not instead, you need both.
Batteries have a limited lifespan, so just replace your battery if it has reached the end of its life.
If you drive your car daily and the battery dies and it is more than 4 years old, you probably just need a new battery.
On the other hand, if your car sits for a couple of weeks unused and you return to a flat battery (or you leave the lights on in an old car where this was possible), a charger can save the day.
Where"s the bargain? Price history? RRP? A quick search shows several places selling it for $319. A 6% discount is not a bargain.
I have had this one for 5 years and it does the job for $100 less https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-12v-15-amp-7-sta…
