is this a 1 time use then bin it.?

    • I own a brushless version of drill driver for more than 2 years, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/661250. It perform reasonablly well, somewhat better than the Worx equivalent which is suppose to be the high end product from the same company.

      • I suppose everyone has a different definition of what "performing reasonably well" means….

      • The bt speaker was garbage though. It drained the battery while off.

    • I had a Rockwell drill from SCA and I used it about 5 times over 2 yrs. Completely died. Couldn't be revived. Then realised I could use the batteries in toolpro and Worx skins. Not a total loss, but would have been better off without it.

  • I have a green colour bought from supercheap, it’s terrible weak 😳

    • The discussion thread in the link above says that likely the battery was a problem for 'green' version, which is a legacy model retired a few years ago. This posting relates to a newer generation (i.e. the experience with a 'green' colour version may not be applicable)

  • That's one massive ass driver, looks more akin to one of the heavy duty impact wrenches.

  • Bunnings is $65, XU1 not Ozito. Is that a price-match?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/xu1-blue-18volt-2-piece-cordless…

The Ozito kit would be much better value at $99, but out of stock.

    • Agree with the Ozito being better value at $99, unless you need a hammer drill that is.

Dang. I'm sure they used to have a hammer function in a cheap kit.
Though if rarely used, you could get a cheap corded hammer drill. And for regular use, you should get a rotary hammer :)

        • Agree. But there could be the case where someone does not yet have any drills, is on a tight budget and has small project involving drilling some holes in masonry to put up some picktures. In that case maybe …..

          • @ozhunter68: Good luck using any cheap battery hammer drill on masonry or brickwork if it's not a SDS rotary hammer drill. Even with a cheap corded hammer drill you'd struggle. I got the SDS battery powered Rockwell for $50 and it cuts through like butter.

            • @0 0 0: Sure, if you need to do big heavy duty work. People years ago use to make do with whatever worked, even sometimes with lighter or hand tools. I did say to drill some small holes (maybe chose the mortar lines) to put up a few pictures.

Why would the ozito kit be much better value? Or even better value? I'd definitely go for this over ozito if I didn't have a worx impact driver and hammer drill.

          5 Year Replacement Warranty.

@bio: If the ozito has the same nm torque and you're in that ecosystem then sure.

I recently got a 500W XU1 hammer drill for $35 to drill some brick as my Ozito brussless couldn't do it, worked well.
Looks like XU1 is also made by Ozito but has less warranty and not for hard use.

      • 2 x 18V 1.5Ah batteries included

    • +1

Not sure XU1 referenced here is comparable to Rockwell. XU1 drill driver has 18 Nm of torque vs 50 Nm for Rockwell, same for the impact driver - 110 Nm of max torque for XU1 vs 180 Nm for Rockwell. XU1 is probably more comparable to 12V or weaker tools

      • I take it back. This is a great deal if you have not already got another brand of tools already with

their battery and charging eco sytem. I already have Ryobi and Ozito gear, so was being a bit one

sided and biased towards that unfairly.

  • I got one a few wks ago, perfect for the one diy project a year.

    • not really, your battery will probably be dead if you store it in the cupboard not maintained (either too full or too empty) until next year….

  • This seems to be a really good price!!

I picked this up thanks op.
Is it the same as this ?
