Thanks a lot. Sorry I am new to eSim. May I ask when it takes me to Local Plans, does it mean I have to select the country where I will travel to?

I should activate latest one day before I travel?

    Many thanks!

  • What network does it use?

    • Looks to be Vodafone. Carrier name shows up as "BetterRoaming".

Vodafone. Confirmed via field test plmn

  • Any concerns with using this network? Is it safe/secure?

    • Looks to be aussie based with an aussie ip On the Esim at least.

I just activated this while overseas, sad to realise this code has given me 1gb to use in Australia… then asks me pay for roaming data in other countries :(

To my mystery neggers… the original title didnt say "for Australia", hence my disappointment when i set it up..

    • Oh damn I thought it was a generic code for 1GB data in any of the supported countries. I have the same issue

  • You are the product

    • Fine with me, I mean there's not much data they can extract from an eSIM right? As long as you don't signup for a plan they don't even ask for personal info ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • Yeah your ISP definitely cannot see what you do online.

        • +3

Just like any other ISP. All they can see is me connecting to my VPN.

    • Aren't everyone a product of google already?

      • Base model, but no reason to become their flagship.

  • Got it, thanks.

The APN settings show up as truphone.com on my iPhone

  • Can you swap back and forth with an esim like you can with a normal sim?

  • Off-topic, I would like to ask for a recommendation for a reliable data eSIM for New Zealand. I will be traveling to New Zealand in May and anticipate requiring approximately 10GB of data during my trip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Travelkon. Good esims. Had good experience with them recently when in Japan

    • I just got back from NZ and used a Global Yo esim, worked perfectly

does an esim give you a number? can I receive SMS to it even though it's data only?

    • Not these esims. Many are data only.

      • So cant make calls?

        • Yes. If data only. No sms or calls.

        • Internet-based calls are fine
But without a number you can't make normal calls

  • Has anyone tried these guys for overseas travel. The prices seem quite reasonable compared to what's available over here. Will be on an Alaskan cruise in May leaving from Vancouver.

Kiwi in Perth on holiday - I'm trying a BetterRoaming esim now (S21 Ultra), no issues, easy to install, keeping my NZ number, easy to check usage. I looked at lots of providers, these guys have the cheapest plans for me to move into at the end of the free week. I bought it once I was here. Activated straight away.

      Just kidding

      Welcome bro

  • Seems like a good in between option if wanting to port out them back in to Boost.

  • I am new to eSIM.

I am coming back to Australia after an extended time overseas and don’t have an Australian SIM with data to use when arriving at the airport.

My question is: Should I activate this deal the day before leaving overseas or should I activate it when landing at airport in Australia?

    • +1

I would suggest installing the eSIM at home, then connecting to free wifi here, like at the airport, to load the website and add the voucher.

  • not working. anyone else confirm

  • It says invalid code..
