Keep in mind that a desiccant dehumidifier will raise the temperature as it releases warmer air to remove humidity. I only turn mine on in winter and use the AC in dry mode during summer.

    • How bad is it? Like running a split system on heat? If my room is 21/22 consistently what would it raise it to?

      • +2

It would raise it by a degree at most. I have this unit.

      • No def not like running split on heat. This is a small unit, so I’d say 1-2 degrees. It depends how hot your place is, I’m getting roasted this summer so don’t want anything that releases warm air

Best price in 2020 was $255. This is a very good deal.
(my 2020 purchase is still running fine)

    • In very humid conditions you could run both . The aircon dehumidifies better at higher temperature … overall will dehumidify faster

  • Provides 10 hours of continuous humidification

    Power: 280V

    Wtf??

    • can @XanderYuan update the deal? It appears to be a typo of 280W

Also, if it "Removes up to 6L of moisture a day", then a 1.8L tank should have 7.2 hours of continuous humidification in the "up to" case.

      • You can fit a continuous drainage hose to it.

      POWER CONSUMPTION
      280 - 460W

And most of that energy goes to heat…. which is wunnerful in cool or cold winters.
(dessicant types are ideal for removing humidity in cooler temps. Compressor types are ideal for warm temps and high humidity)

  • This or Ausclimate Cool Seasons Premium 10L

    • I have the ausclimate.
Great in winter as dries clothes and watms up room too.
      Water tank much bigger too.
We used it yesterday evening when washing rained on. It totally dried washing within 2.5 hours in closed up room. It dropped humidity levels by 25% and increased room temperature by 3 degrees.
Only bad thing about ausclimate is it doesn't show you room humidity. If you get the ausclimate suggest you buy a cheap thermopro sensor too.

      • I have both units, and the Ausclimate is definitely better.

This is an amazing price though, so depends how large the room you want to dehumidify is.

  • Can anyone share how loud a dessicant is compared to a compressor type (I already have a Ausclimate one and it's amazing but LOUD)….

    • +1

Desiccant is much quieter. Comparable to an air conditioner on quiet mode.

    • +1

Ausclimate desiccant is louder than my split system air conditioner in quiet mode.
But the dehumidifier much much quieter than a portable air conditioner on "quiet" mode.
Just measured it on sound Meter. It's 50-53 decibels when first turned on.

      • +1

Yeah, I guess it's how big your AC is.

The compressor types are awful in terms of noise. You couldn't sleep with one running.

I usually run my Ausclimate dessicant on low, and after a minute or so it's very quiet.

  • How do you get the free delivery? For me it says 15.95.

  • Damn OOS

  • Can anyone recommend an alternative for a small bathroom?

    • +8

The slightly bigger version, the ION612 is also on sale on Catch and still in stock. Maybe a tad big for a bathroom though
